Default Speed Inc. G8 cam only results

The customer wanted some good power while retaining stock stall and drivability.

so we came up with this

DOD removed
Speed Inc. 21x/22x cam
Powerbond pulley
SLP LTs' w/ cats
stock catback with resonators and all
Vararam
stock torque converter

We found the stock tensioner broke on this car as others have noted. We installed a new chain and revised tensioner as well while apart.

This cam idles, drives and sounds like stock.

We had tuned the car before with the Vararam and headers, so we got a good comparison.

enjoy

We are very pleased with the results...thans

The stock catback keeps it almost unnoticed.

The car really moves out well...I took it for a ride with the customer and from a 15-20 MPH punch it get really loose on the 1-2 shift and just keeps pulling.

I hope he gets it to the track soon for some results.

I am very happy with this combination. Idles smooth at 650rpm and really feels great on the street.

I would take this setup over a huge lumpy cam any day

Larry would this type of setup work well in a Grand Prix GXP with an LS4 in it?

Darren

We have not done an LS4 testing, but I'm sure it would work or we can spec something that would.

This car is my buddys car and wow does it move. Stock converter and all. To the guy who asked if a cai and tune will hang with a new camaro a6. I would say it would be a damn close race. The same car was running 13.2@106 on a real hot day. Larry was there that day and the DA was pretty high. The stock tune has a lot of spots with negative or no timing where there should be more.

Even with tq management removed my car would barely spin the tires off the line. Once I got the timing and maf tuned it was a huge difference. It made the car feel like it was 3000 pounds instead of 4000

The same day at the track I was running 13.40s with stock shift points, timing, and airfilter. These cars shift from 3-4 before you cross the line and the stock 3-4 shift is very slow. I could easily get 1-2 more tenths and a couple mph now on a cooler day with the shift points and timing raised.

Thanks again for helping mike get the groceries faster Larry and Jim
