Default Backwards cam! 98 Z28

Dyno'd my 98 Z28 m6 with a backwards, retard cam. Its a reverse split on a 110-1 lsa. The tune is a base line as well. My tuner and I didn't get everything out of it as we could because I am completely changing my exhaust set up very soon. Timing is at 24 WOT

Mods
241 heads
Patriot springs
ls6 intake (with a stupid egr plug)
SLP underdrive pulley
Ls1 motorsports lid
Untouched Mac mid length headers and ory pipe
STOCK z28 exhaust
23x/23x 110-1 lsa reverse split

3rd pull was with a 2.75 cut out that was mounted AFTER the stock over the axle pipe.

358 rwhp 353 rwt through stock z28 muffler
381rwhp 367 rwt with cut out open

I just installed Hooker Super Comps (1 7/8)
Texas Speed y pipe (new version)
and waiting for my Hooker catback

What do you guys think I will pick up with the better exhaust and more tuning? I am going back to the same dyno too.

I guess 394 rwhp and 382 rwht

you might pick up a bit from the full exhaust probably closer to what it was with the cutout. Hooker is a great flowing catback.

Nice numbers, really shows the restriction of the stock catback. With the revised exhaust I could see you hitting 390 rwhp. You gonna put a cutout on the new exhaust?

you should definitely be hitting the 39x hp range with the retard, backwards cam.. i made 395 through an auto without a pulley with stock heads.

The trq curve look good (considering the exhaust that is on) especialy the nice flatline from 4>5K rpm.
Why only 24* wot? Did you monitor your fuel, was everything alright?
The LTs will do nicely, I would put a cutout in the I area before going over the axel and tune it with it open.
Also if you can PP your TB and make some kind of "Ram air" like Chrs1313 or Sux2bU to let it breath even better.

The cut out is a piece of crap lol. I want to put one before the axle like you said. When we went to the dyno, we only did three pulls. I wanted a baseline to compare to the new exhaust set up. When we go back, we will rent an hour. Any good links on how to pp my own tb Mark?

Just skip the 2 hole filling and tubes. Follow the rest, I saw no difference on the dyno by filling those holes and if that stuff ever brakes loose, it might not be pretty.
The only way I would fill those is welding.

Nice TQ curve. The #'s would be a lot higher if you had a better exhaust system to compliment the reverse split.

Yeah, that is the main attribute of those kind of specs. To bring on the trq early in the band, making it less of a peaky cam and more enjoyable on the street, also able to carry the peak a few hundred rpms (contrary to advanced reverse splits).
I have to say Phoenix surprised me by cutting this cam out of the blue, but it is working just the way it is supposed to. He has a better exhaust on the way.
The combo needs a bit of tweaking to get the most out of it.

Thanks again for helping in choosing this cam. I really enjoy it on the street. I can't wait to get the exhaust on. Hooker cat back should be here next week.

Why are all of these reverse splits low on torque? My original dyno was 387/359 with X1,Vig 3600, and LS6 intake+PTB.

reverse splits need a really good flowing exhaust so with the lt's, y, and cat-back it should help alot more i think. do u know the exact specs by hand im gonna be installing my cam 236/234 .615/.598 111-1LSA cam here soon.

Where do you see low trq?
from 4>5K he is holding peak trq 365>367, that is not low.
It should be better with the LTs instead of those crappy mids, just be patient the combo is not tweaked yet.
