Default Not an LSX, but an impressive V12 twin turbo Mercedes

Say whatever you want about German cars, but you have to give Mercedes Benz credit for offering a line of V12 twin turbo cars to the general public. And boy, do they respond to a tune.

Stock hp and torque are in the dotted lines:
531rwhp and 688 rwtq bone stock. All in a 4800 lb 4 door sedan.

After a laptop tune (still stock intake, exhaust):
582 rwhp, 840 rwtq. The dip after torque peak is wheel spin on the chassis dyno. Just be careful when picking on some unassuming 4 door Benz. You might see tail lights.

More details about the car here: http://www.mbworld.org/forums/s55-am...ive-gains.html

Mike, I was there for the dyno session, but can't take credit for the tune. Jerry Thornton from Eurocharged (LET) in Chicago e-mailed the tunes to the client's laptop which was uploaded to the software that LET uses for MB tuning. It's a very similar arrangement to your CMR software. Log the dyno or road file, then e-mail the logs to the tuner who is off-site, then the tuner sends the revised calibration via e-mail to the client (just like we do with Diablosport CMR). The client loads the tune into his handheld programmer (like the Predator) and then reflashes the vehicle. I believe the program is from Germany. I wish you guys had some CMR software for the MB vehicles as I would be all over tuning them. For this session, I was just a spectator.

HOLY JEBUZ!!! The tq on that Benz is insane!!! Pat you know what size those turbo's are I'd guess they are really efficient and spool quickly to produce that much torque.

I've got a hook up for the Euro tuning software. Out of Austria. It's pretty expensive. I have details and contact info if anyone is seriously interested.

With all that torque I was surprised I was able to keep it strapped down tight enough to get any traction at all.

I need one of those cars so I can actually have some leg room.

Patrick I think it goes for 5 to 9x for MB tuning.
