Arrow My TSP 408 Ws6

Finally after trouble shooting here and there, I was able to find the little problems causing it to misfire and snap at higher rpm. 3 MSD wires were arching pretty bad on my ABS lines, so I replaced the set an new NGK TR55's and she runs way better. Are these normal numbers? Im looking into getting a better tune. It was running about 11.2-11.8 at WOT. They said I could get more out of her with a better tune, but it looked like a decent safe tune. LOL. The limiter is at 6200rpm. I have been looking up ms4 cam power peaks and it seems to be around 6400? Should I get a better tune? Thanks guys.

Was tuned on efi live before, and supposivly put 550rwhp without the msd coilpack and green top injectors, fuel pump. Are these numbers right?

Sounds about right. My car peaked at 6600, but I have a ported FAST92, MS3(114LSA) and PRC 2.5 5.3 heads and FAST 36# injectors completely maxed out with the stock fuel pump. You'll make a little more when the motor finally is fully broken in also. Good #'s bro, you'll be in the same boat as me needing heads lol. Your peak rpm does seem a little low. Horsepower/Torque crossover for me was around 5500ish. We have extremely close setups.

I'd be very pleased with those numbers considering your setup. If you had some 1 7/8 headers, a lid, and a retune to get that AFR up closer to 12.9:1, you'd probably be right at that 550 number. Even that is outstanding for an MS4 cam.

So better headers, and a tune? Im happy right now, Im actually debating FI or juice. Not really sure. Thanks guys!

Look like solid numbers to me for the setup. I'd get it broken in more like they said and try for a retune like you mentioned.

You should. That A/F is retarded rich and the limiter is stock. That motor should have been spun to no less than 6700.

Fire your tuner and find another one.

Yeah, my a/f is in that range when I'm on the spray. You'll pick up once you get it leaned out.

Not bad, you're well on your way and the MS4 isn't considered a "huge" cam by most for a 408, so you should be able to get some decent street manners out of her with a good tune! Keep it up!

So the ms4 isnt really a great cam for the 408?

Thanks matt@tsp! I love the motor ..super strong...im just trying to iron out all the kinks. i just recently 10 min ago lol..took the msd coilpacks off, injectors and rails , and pcm.

Sending the pcm to steve at tunedbyfrost.com
Selling the msd coilpacks, goin with stock ls1 or ac delcos, not sure yet
Pressure testing and cleaning the rails and injectors.

Ya that's pig rich.. once you lean it out it should smarten up...I'd spin the engine at least 500 rpm more too.

Is it me or its outstanding results for a 243s headed, ms4 cam and 1 3/4 408!!?? Strong results, even with a bad tune!!

^^^ Really? What heads and cam would you guys go with? Should I change the headers? Im getting steve for tunedbyfrost.com to give me a mail order, im shipping it prolly tomarrow overnight. And getting dual qtp electric cutouts. I just sold my msd coilpacks and putting stock 40k mile ls1 coilpacks on and new fuel filter, plugs, and wires. Any info would be great guys. Aloha!

I don't know much about how much cars should make with specific setups, but it seems like with those headers, aftermarket rear and AFR's those numbers seem very, very strong.

I do not know much about cams, but the MS4 is a mild cam for a 408.
Look into something that had better mid power, as far as i know the MS4 is mostly topend power, you cam pull higher than 6400. Have someone spec out a custom cam with some better LSA and it might sound better. I had the MS4 in my 346 and i hated the idle.

Not sure what opions u have where you are but I would not do a mailorder tune. And the ms4 is not a bad cam but it would like to be spun higher I would set the limiter to 7k.
