Default +32hp +31tq from E-85 conversion on mild cam and bolt on LS1. 415/398

Mods are in my sig but here is the 32hp/31tq difference from the 91 octane tune with the stock 28# injectors to my E85 tune I just got done at Excessive AutoSports in Sioux Falls, SD running the Bosch 42's. Not sure if it matters but the 91 octane dyno was on a mid 60's degree day this spring and my E85 dyno was this past week on a 90+ degree very humid day. The dip in the E85 dyno's torque was from picking up some false knock but to be on the safe side they pulled a little timing. Total full throttle timing with the 91 was 27 degrees and now running 32 degrees with no knock other than that mid powerband dip. Can't wait to go to back to the drag strip now and see what I gain. Best time previous was 12.52@112.5 with a 1.93 60ft

Wow, that's quite a big improvement, gonna have to look into this without a doubt! Thanks for the info, and mind if I ask what you are running for a fuel pump?

I think you are the closest person to me on these boards! If you ever need any help with anything hit me up ive been working on Lsx's and f-bodies for 12 years! Thats a huge gain for the swap, Im suprised your car was making power with that much timing as I normally see best HP at 27-28*

Stock fuel pump and its working well, I have upper 80's injector duty cycle full throttle and they never go static from any fuel starvation(although I do admit it has to be at about its limit). I've been running the E85 for over a month untuned other than the Stoich AFR changed to 9.85 and cranking fuel and afterstart enrichment tables bumped about 30%. I just this week finally had it properly tuned and I was amazed at the power gains. Gas mileage is down about 4-5 mpg but I'm only paying 2.79/gallon now versus $4 for premium here so its still cheaper and my exhaust tips are hardly ever dirty anymore it burns so clean.

Yup, I'm sold, I've known e85 worked well with f/i setups, but never thought there was any gains to be had with an n/a setup that's fairly mild. I did a little searching after seeing this post and I'm excited to get this going for me.

I have no sheets for it but my good friends dad did the same thing to his bolton 2008 Z06. Before he did 468/451 untuned, after some ID750 injectors and E85 Excessive got 538hp out of it and not sure what his torque number was. He picked up exactly 70 rear wheel from an injector swap and E85 as well, although I'm sure his 468 dyno on 91 could have been touched up quite a bit too, that was a pretty low number for a bolt on LS7.

Only drawbacks are cold starting it idle hunts a little more than 91 but I can live with that and with a little more tuning could probably be fixed.

Iowa is corn and beans everywhere. Every other small town here has it and the 2 closest cities as well. We have an ethanol plant in our town too. Its been here for many years but just the last couple the e85 conversions on sports cars have gotten very popular in my area.

Quarter mile update looks like its proven at the track where it counts, I also removed the swaybar at the same time as E85.
91 octane with swaybar: 12.52@112.5 with a 1.93 60ft, 2760DA
E85 with out swaybar: 12.28@113.9 with a 1.86 60ft, 3290DA

112.5 was my old best MPH and this past time my worst MPH was 113.4

Any probs with the e85 eating your fuel pump float or plastic connecting tube...??? my buddy has been running it for only a few months and it destroyed his float bad. Ate right thru it. Racetronix setup with factory float...

Nope no problems and the guys who tuned it have been running e85 for 3-4 years already without problems as well on their own cars.

I wonder if you gained more due to you running 91oct. Here we can get 94 and 93oct is every where. I'm able to run 30deg timing now with the fuel we have here. Not sure if going from 30deg to 32deg would net me any real gains. still something to look into. Did you have to remove your fuel takn and drain it before the e85 switch??

I ran it down to almost out then filled it up full and after another full tank changed the fuel filter since it cleans the varnish out of your tank gas leaves behind. I was told by this tuner and other people that its not just the high octane and timing you can run that gives you the power, its the rich mixture it takes to burn it(35% more fuel) and basically said burning lots of fuel creates torque, almost like having more cubic inches which is why I gained an equal amount of torque and peak power was made 100 rpm sooner.
