Seems about exactly where it should be IMO. Maybe a tad low on the torque though

Looks good. Most 98s I've seen are 285 to 300.

Yeah now that I think about it a little more his numbers are pretty good actually, considering it's a 98. Wonder if it's an auto or manual

Funny thing about dynos...with mods in my sig my car made 405 rwhp on one dyno (when I got the car) and 460 rwhp on another dyno when the previous owner had it. Bottom line...don't hold out for a particular number on a dyno

I've been looking at adding a volant cai. Does anyone know about how much power that would add? Also, would I need to tune the engine afterwards or would I be fine without tuning?

You can always go with a more aggressive cam, but it may not be any faster (maybe even slower) than a smaller cam setup that makes better power under the curve.

My 98 made 315/331 with cold air and catback 14 years ago. I would say your car would probably beat that by a bit.

The 228 is good for drivability. For a street car I wouldn't go much bigger.

Set up properly, two cams that are that much of a variation, the larger cam would always be faster.

Don't worry about how big you can go, worry about what would work best.
To answer your question... Ms4/Polluter/Trex/etc..

Aftermarket lid and a Chrs1313 ram air will make more power than that.

Not tune needed.

More info needed... Plans for setup... Supporting mod list... Etc etc etc... How/when you drive the car... ET/power goals.. Etc... You can't even begin to spec a cam for something you know nothing about.

Ok well its a dd but i have no problems with a high hp dd. So the current plan is AI ported stock heads a cam a ported throttle body ported intake bigger injectors 1 7/8 long tube headers. And eventually a bottom end rebuild down the road.

The car will mainly be used for fun and driving to work. Also some track time ocassionly also some 4.10 gears to add to the parts list

Considering that the car is "rated" at 305hp and 335tq, I would say getting ~300 at the wheels is pretty darn good.

Seeing as how technically the LS1 is rated at 345/350, your results indicate some 15% drivetrain losses, which is right on par with the z28 drivetrain.
