My 1998 A4 TA dyno
Got the car dyno'd two days ago. My mods are in my sig, a few basic bolt ons. Car made 325rwhp and 336rwtq. I was pretty pleased, since it is an A4 car. It made slightly more hp at 5800'ish rpm's than at 6k. I have my rev limit set to 6100 and my shift points bumped up a bit. It usually shifts right at 6k if I'm not spinning and busting the limiter. Anyway, my questions are, does this seem right on par for my car and also, should I put my shift points and rev limit back to stock?
Thanks.
Thanks.

did you by chance dyno it before the mods? It seems to make good power, kinda on the high end unless the headers really do help that much. mine dyno'd 278 stock and with the bolt-on's (no headers) and free mods it made 316. My rev limiter is at 6600 and my car shifts at 6400. I have not had any problem with this setup. I am having Straightline Performance do headers, and true duals on mine after the first of the year, Then on to the cam and maybe heads if my funds permit.

I didn't dyno it before the mods, I wish I would have. I just recently found out about this place...it's about 15 minutes from my house. Sucks, I know. The guy that dyno'd it said it made slightly more power than most A4's were with those same mods.
Our stock exhaust has to flow like crap. When we took it off, I was amazed at how small it is.
Why do you shift so high? You don't have a cam or anything?

wow!!.. GREATWHITE and XP3, your cars dyno'ed awefully low stock.. mine did 304 rwhp bone stock with 91.5k miles and new fuel filter [OEM], s-plugs [NGK TR55s], and plug wires [GMHP Stock]
It's unbelievable to see so much variation on the same year motors!!
I need to have it dynoed again with the mods in the sig...

I just leave my car in D at the track, I used the hpp3 to find the best point for my shift at the track. It varied about .08 throughout my runs, and it did take along time. It wasn't worth the time for the gains but I was curious how much it actually changed. I don't honestly beleive that the difference was made with it but that is the only thing that was changed.

HP numbers vary from dyno to dyno,i feel what counts is track times.i dyno'd about 10hp more on speed inc.'s dyno than on the one in Fort Wayne,In. can't think of their name right now.both were DynoJets.

my TA ran 13.31x@105.xx bone stock... I guess that falls within the norm for A4s [ 13.2 - 13.5 @ 103 - 106 ], if I recall correctly..
