Default New Dyno Numbers ...

Great day for me today ...

After all the frustrations with my old exhaust and setup (and my car dieing at redlights everytime I turned the A/C on), I added a ported TB, 28.8 injectors, LS6 intake, MAC ported headers and ORY, including a Yank SS3600 TC and B&M Supercooler and then decided to have Norris Motorsports tune my car.

When I pulled into Mike Norris' shop this afternoon (what a great guy to work with), dyno pull #1 was 317 RWHP and 346 RWTQ. After all the changes I had made, I thought I would have had much more HP/TQ without tuning. On pull #5 and only about 1 1/2 hour of tuning, my numbers were 359 RWHP and 363 RWTQ.

My car no longer dies at stoplights nor does it surge when starting it up every morning . Dude .... you know how EMBARRASSING that has been for the past 6 months?

I'm really happy with my new numbers ...

With the setup in my sig, do you think these are alright numbers for a cam only A4 car ... considering it has a 3600 stall?

I'd say, track times are more reflective of the car's power. you should be able to hit an 11 with some sticky tires.

Those are very nice numbers you should be very happy now.

I'd also like to ask you a question...your mods:

TR 220/220 .551/.551 112 LSA > 3.73 Gears > Yank SS3600 > Full Bolt-ons > GS-D3's > MAC's w/ORY & cutout > Custom Tuned

What kinda traction you get now on street tires?
I see you have GS-D3's but still, are they that good? (I'm thinkin' about getting a set of those too.)

I'd run nothing less than a 275 Nitto Drag Radial.

I'm with Got Me SOM .

The GS-D3's are the best sticking street tires I've found. I love 'em. Very quiet, comfortable, and they stick on wet pavement nearly as good as they do dry ... handling is awesome. GREAT traction.

But like dude said, Nitto's are the best traction tire if you're looking at pulling the best 60' times. Plan on replacing them at least twice as often, but, hey ... they're half the cost and they're said to be like ice skating in the rain when they get a little wear on them. It just depends on your needs.

My car is a street car, so, I'll 'stick' with the GS-D3's.

Let me get this straight. You picked up 42 RWHP just from the tuning? Something seems wrong there.

it depends..i had TEA tune my car and i only gained about 25rwhp and my cam is bigger. however i didnt have bigger injectors and a few of the other mods he has. i think its debatable, but i def see your point

I had changed out my exhaust from shorty's and CATS to ORY and well-ported MAC's. I also had added an LS6 Intake and nicely ported throttle body. This was all mentioned in the first post here.

Yes, I picked up that much RWHP due to JUST the tune. If you'd like, I'll email anyone the dyno' sheets who would like to see them. I guess all the upgrades since my last dyno threw my A/F off a lot. Of course, Mike Norris is a dynamite tuner, so, it didn't take him long at all to get it right.

You're not making sense. Your first paragraph you make the arguement that you also added x, y and z mods. You even say "this was all mentioned in the first post here." Then your second paragraph you say all 42 RWHP was picked up from JUST the tune. If that's the case, what was the point of the first paragraph?

BTW, I believe you but I just don't understand what the point of the first paragraph was. I already new all of that info from your first post.

Thanks for the help, man. To further clarify: my old tune was severely effected by the upgrade mods I did, so, when I pulled in to the shop, my numbers were worse probably due to it running so rich. So, after I did all the upgrades, the tuner fixed the problems which were created by the new mods themselves.

I used to think adding better stuff increased HP/TQ ... it actually decreased mine until I got the car tuned in to perspective.

Mike is a great guy to work with and stands behind his work as well. Glad to see another satisfied customer...
