Default Disapointed in my results..

I went to the dyno with a group of Fbods for dyno day.. After dynoing my car I was shocked at my torque #'s... First pull was 402.47hp 368.28tq. With that said.. it went lean from 4-5.5k sitting right around 14... I know I have a small cam, but ****.. why is my torque so low!? My cam is in my sig, with .550 lift.. Could it be the combination of my small cam and the AF going lean to cause that much of a loss? Or is there something that could be worse then that...

I wouldn't be dissapointed with your numbers. Torque falls within about 7 of where i'd expect it to be, so its not really all too bad.

I got the numbers in my sig with the G5X2 cam. I also thought my torque was low.
Since you have heads, you should be at around 420+rwhp and 390+rwtq IMO.
I'm assuming you haven't tuned it yet?

If your engine size is still 5.7 and your runnin 6.0 heads your compression is like 9.5 or so and that is what is hurtin ya.

Yeah but they were milled for 11:1 compression.. I'm gonna go get it tuned and see if it runs any better... If that doesn't work.. then I might swap cams...

If the heads were milled .060" or so then yes itll be around 10.7-11.0 depending on gasket type.

It could just be something as simple as your spark table. The stock spark table goes down to 23* at 4800 rpm where you should be making your torque. Once you get the "timing speedbump" removed it should help, don't know how much.

Good tuners often decrease timing and keep it more rich in the peak torque RPM range because engines are most prone to detonate there due to the highest cyl pressures occur there. When I see peak and valley ridges in fuel and timing maps in someone's custom tune it usually means it is a good tune and required a lot of time.

Sounds like your tuner needs to add some fuel down low, then you TQ will come back.

Your heads are way too big for this cam. These heads are for big cube motors or FI. In order to get your moneys worth out of these heads (on your 5.7), you should be at least in the mid 230s and well over .550 on both sides. More like .600. You will not get much more torque out of these heads. The runner volume is just too much, but you can get a lot more HP.
