Went back to the dyno to try and continue working on a 6800 rpm studder problem. Since my 454 rwhp run I also changed to Jesel 1.6 shaft mount rockers. Well with Allans(futral motorsports) help we figured out my high end studder. We made alot of changes but looked like it was in the computer scalling(dfi gen 7). Fixed it and man..did this motor like to rev. Ended up making 476 rwhp and 406 rwtq. Peak power was at 6850ish and at 7200 it hadn't started falling off. If fact it was still flat to 7500 and lost only 5 hp or so from peak. I really think if I trusted mybottom end it would want to rev to 7800. But I just dont' trust a stock crank/two bolt main at that rpm.
It looks like I have a net gain of 54 rwhp from switching to the SAR2K/Thunder racing lt4 heads from my old lt1 castings. Also gained at least 500-600 rpms that I will be using at the track. My 10.7 @ 127 runs were short shifting at 6700 and coasting through the traps to avoid my bad studder problem that I use to have. I can't wait to get this thing in good weather.
I should be able to have a graph up in the next day or so.
Oh..forgot to mention. This was done on PUMP GAS and through a 9" and 4.71 gears. Throw a stock rear end in there and it would be in the 490s. Insane for a little 355 with gm castings.
