depressing dyno run....
drop in filter, and a 3" cut-out. Not exactly a speed demon, but I figured 290 was reasonable. I made 271.0 /276.7 SAE corrected. STD was 278.2 / 276.7.
For comparisson there was an LS2 goat with 405 miles (not exactly broken in) that put 334hp STD corrected. Is the dyno mis-calibrated or do I have a factory turd?

Ummm wow. I have seen #'s like that before. It is not uncommon. But you must realize those factory #'s dont mean jack unless you leave it stock. The cut out could be hurting you stock. Sounds great I am sure. You could have a factory freAK and it would mean nothing after you mod it. I have seen high # stock cars do less after mods. And low end cars like yours take to mods like an eager *****. If you are going to do cut outs get a cam and some headers. Good luck and dont be discouraged.

Definitely on the low side, even for a 98. My 98 TA a4 with 3.23's dyno'd 290rwhp/306 tq bone stock. How many miles do you have? I would also run a datalogger to check your fuel trims and for knock retard.

Thanks, I'm definitely doing lid and 25%UD pullies soon, and SFCs as well, but those won't help my #s. And about $1,000 down the road I want to do LT's and orx. And I'll be getting a tune with the full exhaust so hopefully the tune will help a lot.
and the dyno was at fynetune performance pretty close to the Tamiami Airport, if you're familiar with Miami.

That just means the sensor was not in the pipe.

Thanks a lot guys, you definitely helped me get my spirits up. I'll come back and post track times in 2 weeks.. because thats what really counts, as a few of you said.
And the way I see it- whatever caused the low numbers is going to be replaced by something better, sooner or later.

Just for comparison, my '98 Z28 made 302/325 with a cutout & Whisper lid.
