nice horsepower numbers, but shouldnt your torque be up alil higher? i mean with just headers and a lid, my torque is 360. and thats with the stock ls1 intake too.

My bet is that it has to do with the hand porting. The ports or runners are most likely too large, causing peak gain but loss in the low and mid range flow.

The work looks pretty good, but without having the heads in person and taking measurements along with flow numbers it's hard to say whether the port work was beneficial (in terms of useable power) or not. Like I said, I'm leaning towards not as beneficial in the areas that you spend most of your time in on the street. Porting heads will almost always gain you hp/tq up top, but it's the low and mid lift numbers that make a great head. Not trying to knock your work or efforts because I can certainly appreciate someone taking time to learn how to do that stuff and actually trying it on their own. Just sharing my opinion on the numbers that came out of the porting regardless of who did them.

no offence taken I am a poor college kid and couldent afford a more trusted CNC ls6 or 5.3 head that run around $1,000 or more. So I had a buddy that use to port heads and work on a IHRA pro mod team do it for a decent deal. A couple of things I forgot to mention was that the headers I have are 1 1/3 stepped to 1 7/8s. I also had my cutout open so back pressure was at a minimum. Those to things alone point to more peek power than low and mid range torque. Also not sure if this makes any diff but it was on a Mustang Dyno.

Are you serious, or do you mean 1 3/4 stepped?

same thing happened to my car, it still runs good though. You made a bit more power but the tq is almost the same, I was told my heads are too hogged out, and my compression is too low for my cam, result = low numbers.

If those are on a Mustang dyno then they are pretty dang good. Even still the tq curve looks nice.

SMoking 01 T/A (Rodney) went 10.2's with 370 ft lbs of tq

Wow...looks like the motor wanted to keep going up till about 7k...I'd bet you pick up another 15hp spinning it that hard.

I don't care what the people said about low torque. I would love to have my torque curve go straight up then do a dome shape up to the peak and slowly drop off afterwards. Your HP line is great!! That sucker comes on and keeps on coming. You probably could pull a few more ponies by spinning to 7k but why risk spinning a bearing. You got a bad *** car!! I am going to pm you about something you may be interested in...........

Default What's you SCR and DCR like?

I heard that you'll need to bump the compression to make that cam perform like it's name.

I wannted to get the heads milled .300 when I had them off but I was just flat out of cash. What CR would that cam perform best at?
