Default Enigne Diapers required at NED 9.99 or faster

Just a reminder to everyone. As of April 1st 2009 all cars running 9.99 or faster must have a lower engine comtainment system (diaper) or may use a belly pan.Belly pan must be approved by tech department.

Diapers DO NOT have to be SFI 7.1 cert.
Check IHRA rule book for pro classes.

The belly pan must extend from frame rail to frame rail and extend forward of the harmonic balancer and rearward to the rear engine plate or bellhousing and must incorporate a minimum 2 inch highlip on all sides a non flammable, oil absorbent liner inside of retention devise.

Thank You
Buddy Scurto
NED Tech Director.

I just got the same email.......it will present a $ and install problem for some people here, but sure will help the down time from transmission/engine failure oil-downs, which happen way too frequently at both NED and LVD.... WJ

That would never fit on a Corvette.

From personal experience, if they really want to reduce down time from oil-downs they should require these on any and all import cars, even if they run 16's.

They should require these on 13sec or faster civics... cant tell you how many times you would see those things pop engines and oil the whole track

aint that the truth and they also need to get some better equipement at some of these tracks. I know i hate going to my local track because of break downs and the time it takes them to clean up.

Default C5/6 Corvette diaper......

Anyone here have a approved diaper system installed on their 9 sec. C5/6 Corvette for the '09 season? If so, post up which one and tell us about the install.... WJ
