Default Got the wife a new car, G8 GT

Well we are now a all LS engine family, Got the wife a 09 G8 GT. what a great car. Its as quick as the camaro was stock , but much more refined. Its a bit quiet for me, but she loves it, She was having no part in paying the extra 10g for the GXP, Plus the Gas Guzzler tax (1700.00)was a deal breaker on that for her anyway.
And looks like the WRX sold in the 1st 24 hrs so it became even more affordable

I do like the G8's the 6 speed trans does make the diff, but any modified Fbody is going to put lengths on it. It is def faster then stockish LT1's and LS1's

i test drove a g8gt a few months ago. very nice car. very responsive for its size and weight but it didnt seem as fast as my camaro or GTO when they were stock. GXP is another story.

Its loaded with everything but no sunroof, ( I am to tall, it eats headroom) it was 28900 and change, out the door, incl fees, but not tax or reg.
We were very close to buying the trailblazer SS, they handle outstanding and haul ***, but the wife wanted a CAR to commute into Boston and the TBSS was just too big for her. 09 Is the last year for the TBSS and that almost pushed us that way.
The TBSS is a nicer car to drive than my father-in-laws 70K BMW X5, better handleing, faster, more comfortable. The BMW fit and finish is better, but not 30k worth, And they are willing to deal on TBSS's. BMW would not even talk to me at the dealership, arriogant ********.

Nice cars but I opted not to buy one once I test drove it. I found that for the money it wasn't as comfortable or as well put together inside. Quick car and great looks though. Glad u enjoy it that's all that matters

Congrats on the new car! Looks pretty much identical to mine.

That gas guzzler tax is bullshit. Don't we pay for the gas when we fill the tank? If my car gets shitty mileage then I'm the one putting money in my tank. If I'm willing to pay for the gas (and the tax on gas) then why the hell should I have to pay more on top of it? What's next, an "air tax" each time I fill my tires? Goddamn tree huggers. I'm gonna go out right now and cut a tree down.

Congrats!

My wife & I have been meaning to get out a test drive one as of late. We're definitely considering it as our next family car. We recently test drove a BMW 335i and I'd like to see how it compares. IMO, torque over turbos

They dont seem as fast because they are MUCH MUCH MUCH more refined than any Fbody that ever hit the road.

Great buy. I love that shade of red on them.

Good choice haha. 600$ magnaflow will get proper sound out of the exhaust but still keep it super quiet while cruising. People seem to like it.

Nice car. I'd love a G8 to D/D, I'm just afraid it won't handle the snow well.

I feel the same way. I'd prob still have something FWD for those shitty winter days, especially where I live now, that hill sucks.
