Default What do you use for fluid in your T56

As title says, what does everyone use for fluid in their 6speeds? Anything special, anything seem to work smoother than others?

I read that the RP Synchomax isn't good for these trannys because it eats away at the blocker rings...seems everyone runs M1 synthetic ATF, anybody use synchromesh?

I used dextron 3 in mine and it shifted alot better than whatever came out of it. From what I am told the synthetic tends to ruin synchros? Get regular dextron thats just what I have been told.

regular dextron III is what is suposed to be used. some use other fluids with mixed results but if you go get it changed at a dealer it is dextron III they use

Royal Purple now (used to run a few other things). My brother also uses RP and he is by far the fastest shifter I've ever seen. Not to mention he's been powershifting the hell out of his transmission for almost 20k miles now on the stuff.

Amsoil Here...

20,600 miles on the odometer now... first fluid change was probably at 2500-3000 miles to Amsoil ATF. No issues!

While on the oil topic.. Mobil 1 in the motor and Torco RGO in the differential!

I run it in the differential; no problem and quieter than what was in there before! (non-auburn)
