Default NE Dragway questions

Only brought my camaro there once last year, and i only made 2 passes, so i'm still kind of a newbie. I dont plan on running lower than 11.49, but my car has a cage in it. So, do i still need the foam padding around the roll cage? Also, what are you guys doing for battery tie downs? Anyone gonna be there tomorrow. I will most likely be there embarassing myself and breaking stuff.

i think u will be alright without the padding. but if it were me i'd get it asap.

hold downs. i just went custom and made one. i would come up tonight to watch but im going to look at a jet ski

You should be all set.

If you are spectating you can now get in for just $5 dollars. Stop at the sunoco gas station down the road and pick up a coupon. read the fine print.

My battery is tied down the way it came from the factory.

As far as bar padding goes, you can get away without it probably, but I HIGHLY recommend it for your safety and comfort, either at the track or on the street. Bars can hurt.

bars can more than hurt they can easily kill. One of the first big advancements in car safety was making interiors softer so you dont get bludgeoned to death as your head and body move around in an accident.


BTW I should be up there "knock on wood" if the rain stays away. Should be able to get some good seat time

just made a custom battery tie down. its a little gehtto, but my battery is going nowhere. i called and asked about the padding and they said i dont need it, but i will def be getting some soon.

they are stickliers this year on padding and always have been on battery. a ratchet strap is sufface though just no bungie cords

Go to a plumbing supply shop and pick up some Imco-lock split foam pipe insulation for the cage padding. It's cheap, easy and it doesn't give the guys in the lanes a reason to hold you up. Just because they told you on the phone your fine doesn't mean they want say no in the tech lanes.

This is great in a pinch but to the OP remember its no substitute for real padding especially if your driving the car on the street even occasionally.
