Thumbs up I no longer owe Dom Toretto a 10 second car :-D

^ Silly little 'Fast and the Furious' reference ^ LOL

Well, it's true, I put my naturally aspirated, stock internals, bolt ons only C6 A6 LS2 into the high 10s on Tuesday and it was such a joy (and relief) to get there just a little over a year since first running 11s with it.
The car is still in the same configuration (Vararam CAI, headers, torque converter, FAST, Cartek tuning, tires etc.) as my previous new personal best other than some mild shift point fine tuning from my very talented tuner shop.
My best pass was a 10.97@125.13mph (best MPH was 125.16) on a 1.54 sixty foot (with a best of 1.52 ) but the track was a little greasy and wasn't quite hooking the same on every pass so my sixty foots were all over the place. That 99.14mph in the 1/8th made me quite happy as well. :hurray:
I'd made another six passes all in the 11.0s, two of them being 11.01s.
And I still don't even have all of the more popular bolts on either, this car still retains it's:
stock internals LS2 motor (ie: stock heads/stock cam)
stock 2.56 gears
stock water pump
stock crank pulley
stock cat back exhaust
stock sway bars/shocks/springs
I really do enjoy being able to simply drive to the track, adjusting the tires a tiny bit, running the car into the high 10s/low 11s, then driving home again.

Again, much thanks to forum sponsor Cartek Racing for giving my car the quality attention that it needed to get to this point, couldn't have done it without you guys.
And thanks to Dennis, Tommy and Mike for assisting at the track.
Along with making it into the finals at the Corvette Challenge Pro 11.50 index event two weeks ago, this is certainly among the highlights of my year.

Here are some slips (car# 364):

WOW Marc, that's AWESOME!!!!!!!
What a nice way to finish out the season.
99+ mph in the 1/8 is really the most unbelievable part of the run and just a couple hundreths off of a 1.4x 60'
Truly impressive, congrats to you and to Cartek!!

So do you think the tall rear end gears keeps you from shocking the tires so much? That sounds like a great car to drive.. how "optimized" is it for the strip, i.e. weight removal, alignment, etc?

Thanks Mark. Yeah there were a few milestones that I'd wanted to achieve with this car before the tracks closed for the year, among them was hitting 99mph in the 1/8th (as I already knew that going 100 was simply out of the question) along with crossing 125mph, hitting a 10.9x (or two) and sixty footing mid 1.5s. The only one I didn't get was going a 6.9x in the 1/8th (close, got it down to a 7.02) but that's ok as I ultimately still reached the most important/key one for me (10s).

That sick, dude, congrats! A bolt-on, 10 second car that you can drive to the track, race, and then drive home is beautiful!
