Default Crappy luck still PREVAILS AGAIN!!!! Big let down inside!

Well after busting my hump to get easyvettes 18x11 chrome C5Z06 wheels on the back, with a thin spacer, changed clutch fluid reservoir twice before the trip I went to bed at 1am last nite and couldnt sleep seemed like it was gonna be better then Christmas. Well we go down with carefully estimating fuel to come in at just under a 1/4 tank of gas. BFG 315 drag radials 5yrs old set at 25ps. I line up the car after seeing several cars break and several sliding all over the track. I pull up do a very small burnout cause I thought OMG clutch is letting go but the car just power brakes alot easier then I thought. So I rolled up to the lights. 3000rpms and let the clutch come out as I rolled into the gas a little to slow and she fell then started to spin. Quick shift to 2nd and get some more tire spin through alot of 2nd gear lightly hit the rev limiter and shift to 3rd and then 4th gears. Get my timeslip of the first pass in the car
2.011-60ft
5.275-330ft
7.846-1/8mi
96.31mph
10.006-1000ft
11.833-1/4mi
123.32mph
I was bummed but looked at as all the things that were completely wrong and how easy it was going to be to improve these things. So i immediately come back around and go for another run after sitting in line a bit and some more breaking and waiting car is sitting 217* and i've read and heard thats just fine and normal. So I pull up do a much better burnout with tires at 21psi now. Launch and I bog with another 3000rpm launch. Rolls out and hit 2nd gear decently light spin and then the rpms come up and it kinda feels weird... then 3rd gear and now feels really bad but pulling through the gear but i go through the traps at 111mph at 12.18. I was completely confused. I pull into the pits check over things and wait for a friend with HPtuners to check for codes though the check engine light did not come on. So check and no codes, look things over and more confused when i get on it, at approx 5k rpm the car falls on its face. So i'm like well maybe its the competitive driving mode causing it. I try to turn it all off and realize I can now only turn traction control on and off and doesnt give me a competitive mode on or off. So I go put more gas i thinking its cause the car is low on gas. Nope wasnt it, tried pulling the negative battery cable for 10minutes, nope didnt change, drove the car around to see if it would reset or something. Never did figure it out. Sorry everyone we'll getter figured out since the car is 100% stock and getter all taken care of and come back stronger and better then ever next year. Thanks for all the interest/support.

Sorry to hear you didn't get exctly what you were hoping for, but I wasn't too far off guessing a 11.55 @ 126 spinning through first and second.

I didn't want to say it yesterday but so is my 5,300lb truck. LOL

I hope you get it figured out Bruce. That really sucks that you are having problems with a bone stock car. Good thing is that they come with a warranty. Get it figured out and we will head back down in the Spring to see what all of our new setups will do.

No I was using the HPT to log another car that day. We did however go out with a TECH 2 the other weak to see it pulling 10degrees of knock retard above 5k. Should be going to the dealer to get fixed in a weak or so. Apparently it has something to do with the Alternator. Crazy ****.

any DTCs set? you could look at the freeze frame on the Tech2(if its still saved) if they were. Somthin with the alternator is crazy, keep us updated im curious

No DTCs and its not a bad knock sensor. Shows random knock on multiple cylinders and has been through several tanks of gas. But word from a Vette specialist says he had one that a bad alternator caused this. The car is still under warranty so the dealer has to fix it. But I don't work at a Chevy Dealer so I can't help him out Bruce just stopped by my work over lunch one day to check it out quick. But I am no spring chicken to working with a Tech2 and freeze frames.

hm, maybe regulator acts up at high rpm causing bad voltage spikes? i honestly have no clue thats weird, and the Tech2 and Snap On Modis are my two fav's to use freeze frames are easy to review, and pretty cool having a oscilliscope on the snap on too.
