Whats it worth? Possibly going to sell..
I am curious to see what people think my car is worth because I am debating whether or not to sell it..
Its a 1998 Trans Am with 186000 on the body, but everything else is new. New front brakes, motor, transmission...
Heres a list of mods:
- 408 Iron Stroker forged internals motor w/Patriot stg 1 LS6 heads, comp cams 236/240 113LSA cam, LS6 intake manifold, LS6 Oil Pump, LS6 Valley cover w/updated PCV system, double roller adjustable timing chain, ASP underdrive pulley(uninstalled), LS7 lifters, Hardened pushrods, FAST 36 lb/hr injectors
engine has roughly 2500 miles on it
- Performabuilt Level 1 4L60E with 3400 Billet Stall converter, B&M tranny cooler, still has over a year warranty left on tranny
tranny has roughly 4000 miles on it
- Pacesetter long tubes, off-road y-pipe, Hooker Catback with brand new tips
- Bilstein HD's brand new, LG G2 springs brand new, Spohn double on-car adjustable panhard bar brand new, spohn double on car adjustable LCA's brand new all uninstalled will include
- Racetronix complete fuel pump kit installed less than 100 miles ago
- Polyurethane motor mounts, front endlinks
- Tuned by Slowhawk
- Silver C6 OEM wheels, new tires all around
- WS6 hood
The car dyno'd 408rwhp and 431rwtq, Don said that with a tighter converter it would be up around 450-460. He also said with tires the car should be good for high 10's, but I havent been to the track yet.
The only thing the car needs to be 100% solid would be a new or better rear end, and could go for a nicer paintjob.
Just curious to see what the car would be worth if I were to sell it the way it sits.
PS - EVERYTHING WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW AND i HAVE RECEIPTS FOR NEARLY ALL THE WORK DONE TO THE CAR

KBB lists it for about $4,600 and that's about what you can realistically expect to get for it. If you want to make a little extra $$$ part out some of the mods and sell it stock. Mods and replacement drivetrains aren't necessarily good things to a potential buyer.

lol 4600 is barely more than I paid for the shortblock!
I would never sell it for anything close to that price, I know what the KBB says and I also know what peolpe look for when buying one of these cars as ive owned about 5 of them. I also know what it would cost to have a car built to what mine is at a shop.
I know what I would like to sell it for if I do end up selling it, and I would only sell it if I were able to get that for it. I am just posting this up to gauge interest i guess, and if someone makes me an offer or seems interested I can go from there.

4,600? r u crazy? realisticly it would prolly take some time but i could see someone dishing out around $8k for a car like this, maybe a lil more, maybe a lil less. i would say more towards $10k but the body does have a lot of mileage... it would take time because usually a person would rather build his own setup then buy someone elses, but on the other hand its much cheaper to buy someone else's and there r guys out there who do that they r just few and far between. honestly if it was me and i was dead set on selling it i would through it up for $11k and see what bites i'd get.
but best advice ur gonna get DONT DO IT! ur gonna regret it if u do!

That car would sell for 4,600.00 without mod's on a good day. The car has a ton of miles, it's 12 years old and it is driven hard (you dont drive to get good mpg with mods). The mod's are used and the new owner really doesnt know whats going on under everything.
How much would you sell the car for? I know if I was looking at it I'd have to consider paint, the interior and the ride of the car. If those three things wernt all that great I'd look for a really good deal or just keep moving along.

Like i said, I have a figure in mind but I do not want to say it until I know what people think and would offer. I know what I will sell it for and what I wont sell it for, if I get the right offer its sold.
On that note. The car is not perfect, but it is a good car. It has high miles, but everything that mileage really affects has been replaced, except for the suspension and like I stated, I have over $1000 in parts brand new to correct that issue. On top of that the car has custom door panels with $1200 Boston Acoustics SPZ's and a $1200 2009 model Kenwood Screen. Every part on this car was bought new, and I have AT LEAST $17500 in this car.
Thank you for the replies and please keep them coming.

No one is just going to throw out a number that your going to be happy with if your just testing the waters.
Sounds like you have some money into the car, but its tough to get all that money back when you sell...
Figure out a number your happy with , advertise the car alittle and see what you get for a response. If no one bites on it after a few weeks then you just gotta decide wether you want to keep it or drop the price.
G/luck

Honestly, IF I were going to list my car ('02 Z28 with 67,000 miles) for sale today, I would start on the high side at $9K and take offers from there. Of course, I would also have a number of mods removed from it by that time...
