Default Machinist in East Coast Shops

I am trying to become a machinist and I am looking to go to school in Houston, Texas at School of Automotive Machinist (currently living in New Jersey). Do any of the east coast companies recognize this school as a formidable and reputable school in which I will learn to become a machinist? Do you reccommend any other form of training (currently offered at the school block, head and CNC training). The reason for this thread is to see if there is a market for this on the east coast as I would like to move back here when done with the school.

Your input is greatly appreciated, even if it is to say yes or no to the school. If your schedule does not allow a detailed response, the yes/no answer ways a lot for me.

From what I've heard, SAM is the best school you can go to, plain and simple

I took some classes from an old NASCAR engine builder last year, also responsible for some of the 1969 ZL-1 motors! He recommended this school while I was there.

Thank you for your input, I have heard great things about the school from everyone I spoke to. I am sold on the school, I just want to be able to get a job when I come out. And I started that thread, lol.

thinkBIG, you're like me in that you might wanna spend some time away from your "home", but then at least find your way back to your routes. Funny how I've had a lot of the same questions as you...who knows, maybe we'll cross paths @ some point.
