Big thanks to Slowhawk, PurEvl and more!
The car is almost completed (for this year at least). I built the entire set up from used parts for less than most people have spent on their shortblocks Slowhawk finished tuning yesterday and the numbers are listed in my sig - 403/386.
Wanted to thank Slowhawk for the numerous tunes, clutch install, cam and frustrated questions when installing the motor the first time around.
Big thanks to PurEvl for SO MANY parts - thanks for changing your set up enough times to supply me with shortblock, headers, y-pipe, tach, shift light, QA1s, Boyds, tranny mount, and more I am sure. Thanks to your bro for the ram-air, linelock, rear filler panel, shifter ball, pedals, etc...
Thanks to Cyborg for the good deal on the heads!
Thanks to badpewterZ for all the part numbers he posted up for me!
Thanks to stangman_nb for the wheel trade, that money came in handly!
Thanks to whomever on the board sold me the lifters and ASP pulley!
The only new parts on my setup are the valve springs, pushrods, bearing, rings, QTP cutout, Magnaflow, clutch and the K&N FIPK. For a grand total of less than 4.5K (when you include selling my longblock) I bought and rebuilt the 3.905" LS6 w /JE pistons, rebuilt the tranny, ported the SLP heads, bought the new parts and installed. This included EVERY bolt-on and cosmetic mod on the car to date. I have to say... not too shabby.
Looking forward to some track numbers this summer once I can find a 12 bolt or 9"
Thanks again to everyone including people I haven't mentioned. This winter will be time to build a big cube motor from NEW parts
