Default I need everyone's opinion

I've been offered my old 1998 Trans Am back. The difference is, now its a roller. Their is no motor, no tranny, no computer, no wheels, no carpet, and no seats.

The car has a PA Chromoly K member with uppers and lowers, VFN Outlaw hood, abs delete, line lock, 15-20lbs taken off stock harness. AC/Heat delete plus block off plates.

He wants $3500. Keep in mind I sold this car to him in 2003 for $10,000 running with 400RWHP. Now the only reason I would consider it, is because this car is my baby. This was my first new car I ever bought, and I owned it for 5 years. I've had tons of problems with the car throughout the 5 years but in the end I've always loved this car.

Problem now is I need to spend roughly $10-$15K on this car to get it running to my expectations. And it will pretty much be a racecar. Plus I will have to pay for 95% of the labor because I dont have a garage.

What do you guys think? Keep saving for that Z06 I want, or break down and build a mean 9 second race car??

Wow... poor car. Looks like he gave up on his project. IMO I would save for a Z06. A race car is alot of fun at the track... but the other 99% of the time it sits in a garage and you wish you'll had something for the street.

I'd say no, but I also know how much pull your old car has (I'm about to buy my caprice back). It's like sleeping with your ex-girlfriend, it's so wrong but it feels sooo right!

No brainer save for the Z06. Sentimental values are bought and sold all the time. Just go to church 1 day and you`ll feel better, you`ll feel great if you take the z06.

That's not a roller, that's on it's way to the junk yard for scrap metal. Give him $50.

step away marco just spend the cash on a vette you will be alot happier . that car looks like its been to hell and back and 3500 is way way to much as a roller for it considering youll be droping tons of money into that you will never ever get back where as a vette will hold value alot better and ride alot better on the street

I'd give him 500 bucks at best. For a all out race car you could find a v6 roller for close to nothing. But the fact that it's your first car does hold some weight. I still have my first car (3rd gen) and will never get rid of it.It's gonna take a lot of will power but turn and run as fast as you can

Exactly LOL...I can TOTALLY appreciate the sentimental bond/attachment here and it is a valid reason to want the car back but it will be a small nightmare (and fortune) getting it all back together as you want it.
I hate to say it but I would pass and just keep saving for the plastic fantastic.

Body looks good, I think it's it's a good roller. $3500 doesn't seem too bad maybe $2800 would be better. 10-15,000? no way man.
