The real cost of HP
Well, as most of you are aware I have been going through absolute hell trying to get my truck to make big power. I won't bore you all with the details of this nightmare build again but let me break it down for you.
Stage I
LME 408 with ET245 heads $7400
Intake, elbow, TB $1000
Fuel system $1500
turbo kit from douchebag $3600
Turbo, bov, wastegate, eboost $2700
Labor to have douchebag **** up my truck $7500
Stage II
Dez racing parts/labor to try like hell to fix nightmare douchebag caused $7500. unsuccessful but not for lack of trying. sorry guys
Stage III
W2W parts/labor to try to fix nightmare douchebag caused $6750 Unsuccsessful
Stage IV
Kenne bell 2.8L $7000
Supermaxx headers $1000
Corsa cat back $1000
parts/labor to remove douchebag turbo kit, install kb, replace wiring harness, fix fuel system, and tune $9500
This does not include the cost of having the truck shipped from NY to MA then NH to MA then NH to MI and now MI to NH. $2500ish
I did sell the turbo kit and some of the fuel system for $3500 so that's a plus.
It has been almost exactly 2 years since I've had a running vehicle.
The lesson here is: If you are going to do a build like this be sure the person doing the work knows what the hell they are doing and doesn't totally **** up your ****. Cheaper isn't always better.
oh, and the beauty of it all is, I only made 485rwhp after all this, hahahahaha

"parts/labor to remove douchebag turbo kit, install kb, replace wiring harness, fix fuel system, and tune $9500"
holy crap!!!
"Labor to have douchebag **** up my truck $7500"
damn!!! that together ($17,000) there is what I paid for my 370 ci forged motor, TTi Turbo Race Kit, my built TH400, Moser 12-bolt, fuel system, installation of EVERYTHING and tuning (not including tax)
Installation was done local, and tuning was done @ SpeedInc.
Edit: sorry man!!

Denali... your not the only one this has happened too.
Remember me posting this car...?
My father and I bought this from my uncle for $10k. With it we got a file with over $100k in invoices and that does not include the original $16k he paid for the car new. By the time my uncle was done with it, he had spent so much $$$$ and waited so long for the car to be right he couldn't enjoy it... he sold it to us with only 9k miles on it and maybe only 2k miles on the final setup.

The moral of this story is:
Some shop owners are extremely proud and stand 100% behind thier work.
Then- you have the guys who are one step short of armed robbery (torque wrenches are not on the lawbooks as weapons) and are miserable little turds who, when they can't perform 1/3 of thier claims, hold your car/truck for months on end hoping a piece of SkyLab will fall from the sky and finally end thier ball of lies. I've seen greedy bastards that would screw thier own mother sweet-talk customers and then blast them as soon as they are out of earshot.
Ohhh well- there was a time when everyone helped each other and there was no place for crooks. That is almost history... with a very few with morals & skills.
