Cool ATCO Today

Well I decided to run my 1998 SS for the first time today so I took a trip down to ATCO. The place wasn't packed at all and I got there at like 10:30. Needless to say, I didn't make my first run until 4:00 because of all the damn cars breaking. I would love to know who was doing tech inspection today because they should be fired. One car left it's rear (with wheels still attached) at the line and the rest of the car stopped right past the 60' mark. I lost count on how many times the jet dryer had to come out. So my one and only run was as follows:

60' 2.011 on Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's
1/4 13.48
mph 102.78

Not to shabby for a lid and blowmaster on street tires

I saw some other f bodies there.....anyone from here?

I think Atco does an ok job of checking the cars. I raced there for four years so maybe they got use to my car and didn't look as hard. You can't expect them to put everyone's car on a lift and check for bolt tightness. Hey they have the quickest track in the world too.

We went down to shake down the new motor and found out we had a junkie nos controller. We only made one decent hit with one kit and went 8.49 @169. It needs to go much faster though.

Lightbulb

Please let us not rag on Atco's tech process too loudly, the LAST thing ya want is for them to REALLY crack down like the guys at Island and now E-town.
Those guys will flag ya if your harness belts are 3 hours past the expiration date LOL.

I don't mean to rag about tech but to pay $35 and get there at 10:30 and make one run at 4:00 get's to me a bit. At one point (around 3:30) it didn't look like I was going to make a pass at all because some drops were coming down......this would have been the best thing because I would have at least got a rain pass to use another day.
