Default Diagnosing the LS1 (Tampa Bay area)

Anybody in the Tampa Bay area that specializes in LSx engines?
I need some help with my engine.

Thanks

Whats going on with it?

If you give us some info as to what it is, what is done to it etc we can probably help.

Well, I didn't want to turn this into a diagnostic over the internet, because it is somewhat difficult to do, and turn into multiple page threads. (I have already spent hours looking at the threads on this site).

Wrong forum section too, but right now I have taken the engine back to completely stock, except for dual 3 inch exhaust, C6 stock manifolds. The car was barely modified as I knew it would be best to fix my problem before doing any more mods. The engine has a mysterious misfire, at idle, and higher RPM, really bad between 2000 and 3000 RPM sometimes surging at idle until I shut the engine off and restart, no codes. I have a laundry list of things I have already checked. I was hoping to have a new set of eyes look at it as I have been looking at it for too long.
I am thinking it may be the PCM but I would like to be sure.

Well since there are no replies for local LS1 guys, maybe I should move this into the diagnostic section.

Do you have a scanner to check tps voltage and cylinder misfires? Custom tune?

I had a similar problem with my '99 SS, had 2 different mechanics working on it and it finally came down to throwing parts at it. had no codes and nothing would even show up out of spec on a Tech 2 scanner. turned out to be a bad MAF. with a borrowed MAF off a 96 vette, it ran great and I went and bought the correct one. hope this helps, these poor guys were scratching their heads and had resorted to cleaning ground wire connections. which I knew at that point they were reaching for anything.
