Default Tampa area performance shop?

I'm looking for a Tampa area performance shop that will install my cam, springs, etc. when I get them, and tune the car.

I tried contacting Powertech Performance 4 times. 3 times by phone, and once by e-mail, and was blown off all 4 times.

When I called, I was told that I would be called back, but they never did, and when I emailed, I received 1 response asking about supporting mods for what I asked, and then never heard back from them, so screw them.

I don't want to drive all the way to Lashway, so I'm looking for a more local place.

Any suggestions?

I don't have my parts yet, but I will, and I want to have a place that I've decided to go to.

If not, then maybe I'll try to install everything myself, and get it tuned.

The were closed half of this week, and not officially back open till Thursday 1/2/2014.
So if someone answered the phone, it may have been a tech working on their car while the shop with closed, and taking a message for Joe when they re-open

I talked to him yesterday, Ill be there Friday

I made the calls a few months ago, before any holidays, and the e-mails were on Dec 17.

dude that place gets slammed and they have been busy the past 6 months, like really busy. dont give up on them, Joe and the crew are quality. I have heard some good things about FSP over on the G8 boards. But it's dependant on what you want to do. I know Kyle from BMR does side jobs out of his shop for a lot of people.

Thanks guys, I've decided where I'm going to go.

After all is installed and tuned, I'll write a review.

That would be cool.

Have you done a cam swap before? How long should it take?

A cam swap in an f body is pretty straightforward. There are a bunch of write ups and can be done in a day no problem or done in a weekend if you take it easy.

Yea, I've done em on SBCs, but not on an LS.

I wasn't worried about whether or not I can do it, I've just gotten lazy, and busy. lol

I do installs on anything performance and have done so for many years, i have worked at many performance shops over the years. if your still looking pm me and we can meet up.

Powertech performance always blows people off wont return your calls. they have beening doing that for a while. Every time i go there for detailing product (when i did) they always had the same cars there like they were not getting finished. only 1 guy there has worked on ls or lt corvettes and camaros the other 2 guys came right out of school to be helpers. That being said i would much rather have someone who has done this for years work on my car vs a new kid on the block.

i have tons of customer car pictures, and references. we do detailing and performance auto repair.
