Sweetness! Sucks because NPD sponsored the LA show since we thought there wasn't going to be a Florida date according to the 2008 schedule at the beginning of the year.

I'll be there!

The Super Chevy show seemed to get smaller and smaller over the years. They charge too much to enter the show. (both spectator and show cars)

Agreed! I usually go up saturday, get a room in town, go partying, and do the show the next day. Always looking to split rooms!

When I go to a dragstrip I've always figured the point is to dragrace not look at how pretty the cars are.

My car is slow, but it is shiny. I don't feel there is any reason you can not have speed at the same time as a nice underhood. I just am too chicken to drive that far and break something. Orlando I can tow. Gainesville would be an expensive tow.

So you've never gone to a race and walked through the pits just to look? What I don't understand is when people put all that pride and time into making their car fast, but have no desire to even wash it, let alone put a coat of wax on it. To me there is no reason why a car can't be fast and look good at the same time.

I agree. I was just joking. Mine is 458hp at the rear wheels, so it ought to be able to do some decent times when I finally run it....

Cool one that is close to home again. I'm not all about driving 5 hours to the one on the other coast.

Building a car with plenty of power and being afraid to race it is like saving a bunch of money and never being able to spend it IMHO. I drove the Nova 3-4 hours each way to races, ripped off mid 11s and drove her home. Stuff breaks I'll admit, so make sure to cover your butt before running it. I'm just a long term racer, and even the slow Formula gets a beating every year and she's still in great running order.

Hmm if someone I know is going I'll try to bum a ride up there, I don't feel like driving my leaky jalopy up there. Perhaps I should stay home and work on the car. All I know is I'm leary about driving my truck to Tampa, let alone Gainesville.

I'll be there Friday-Sunday, but looks like the Formula might get a rest for a quicker F-body
