Not sure what you would consider a good price, but I can give you a ballpark idea on the cost to do the job. I have a car at the shop now getting a clutch installed and while it is there he wants to fix 6th gear since at times it will not stay in gear.

The parts being replaced are the 5/6 synchro assembly, 5th and 6th blocker rings, 6th driven gear and while we are there we are also putting in a steel 3/4 shift fork and replacing all the plastic shift fork pads with bronze.

To do this repair with trans R&R, seals, sealant and fluids will run about $1200 or so. If he were to bring me the trans and fix just the issue (no steel shift fork or bronze pads) it would run approx $900.

Now whether or not this cost would be the same would depend on the driven gear or not. Hard to say until you get into it. Timeframe for the repair would be 3 days as the parts need to be ordered (overnighted at no extra charge).

Hope this helps.

Well I am a one man show for the most part so at times I can be out running for parts. I have also been out on tuning trips to TN and AZ a couple long weekends in a row recently so I was gone from Thursday on.

For the most part my hours ar 9AM to 5:30 PM but it is not unusual for me to be there at 7:30 in the morning and stay till 8-9PM if need be. I also do take off for lunch at approx 11:30 everyday.

I would say to just call me if you want to stop by so I can be sure to be there to meet you. Look forward to it.
