Default LS9 head gasket

Has anyone actually laid their hands on a set of these? It was brought up a while ago, but we weren't sure if the dowel holes were larger or if there were any other differences. No speculation please, just first hand info. Part number?

Well I guess I am going to go stop by the dealership and see if they are available, and maybe get one coming to take a look at.

The LS9 gasket part number is 12622033.
The dowel pins are the same as a regular LS1, so aside from having bigger 11mm bolt holes I can't think why it would need to be any different than the regular 6.2 gasket.
Let me know if your local guy will not order one for "inspection" and I will get one on the way.

I checked at the local dealership (they suck btw), and it is the part number you guys posted 12622033. He said they were not available, and no dealers showed having them???
Where are you guys getting them? Price?
How many layers are the LS7's? I can't remember for sure, 3??

Hmm, I know 1/2" studs go thru the oe dowel pin so there shouldnt be any difference in the dowel size, just the bolt hole size. I'm also interested in this.

Are you sure it's not 6? GM states this is a 4 layer gasket, but that doesn't include the two outer layers which would physically count as 6.

they are available. you just have to call certain people to get them. not all dealerships will go out of the way to do it. but 7 sets have been sold already. and yes they are a 7 layer gasket but again they are still the same thickness, just smaller layers.

You wouldn't want the gasket smaller then the bore it will leak.
