The check valve behind the manifold on a camaro, that hooks up to where the map sensor is, I removed it so i could tap in my boost gauge , what is that check valve for? Is it ok to remove it?

That's the check valve that controls the A/C and heater vent switching. You need it if you’re A/C and heater is still in the car.

If it's the valve I think you are talking about it controls the HVAC controls. The vent's work off vacuum. Since the engine vacuum constantly raises/lowers they put in a check valve so it can only pull vacuum one way and not let it back out.

It's like sucking on a straw and putting your tongue over the end of it so the soda doesn't go back down the straw.

When you remove it you wont be able to use the blend controls. You wont be able to pick dash, or feet, or windshield. it will just come out in the 1 position. I dont remember where, i want to say on the windshield but not sure.

I think the check valve i am talking about is not the one for the heater/AC but it was hooked up to a soilnoid that controled the air pump i think.
