Mine was built for a Turbonetics 82mm F-1 mid frame turbo. Instaspool. They offer them with a 76mm and 80mm, although If you ask, they can put just about anything together.

MightyMouse has a PT-88 that he put on the kit with some modification.

yeah he was nice enough to let me get his old crossover pipe and that bracket that goes to the old a/c holes after he made the change. I made the rest of the kit with a TC76

the car has the stock long block and im lookin to trying to get a motor together, but i need to know how big of turbo i can get so i can decide how big a motor i should build

thanks for the Info

Mid-frame 80mm Tnetics would be the easiest to fit...then it goes up from there.

ST80 went in with modifications to the Turbo Support bolt wholes so that I could slide it to hang the ST80 as needed. That gave me about 3/4" of play which was all I needed. A few of the other guys have redone the support to hang the ST80 but I went the simple route.

If you want to run more than 17psi I'd modify the cold side charge pipe to get a better connection meat for the silcone hose to clamp on. It kind of sucks when you blow it off on a low 9s pass.

Beyond that you just trim the cold side pipe end running into the IC as needed to get the fit correct.

It will require a custom turbo filter setup though depending on wheather or not you want to move the radiotor forward for fit another one in there.

The question I have now though is what's the hot size deminsion comparisons between the ST80 and the PTE88? I need more turbo all ready and the hot side is my tight spot because of the motor plates.

lol...the PTE88 T4 housing is quite a bit bigger, but it will fit. Mightymouse has already done it...so its possible.

I tried a pte 88, it hit the water pump, but not by nearly as much as i would have thought, i might end up just extending the support and running that, as for the rest of the pipes they shouldnt be too hard to modify being as they are all diy

If your LS1 was in a 1st gen.... not happening in a 4th gen. Those GT42 housings are huge.

Exactly. I believe the the street kit requires an on center turbine housing... so it is tight down there.

Yeah the offset of the tang housing pushes it pretty far over.

To keep the on-center housing, then a Tnetics GTM unit would be the biggest. If you are planning to re-design the kit and move parts over with a tang V housing, then a PT88 can be done.

Yes, I forgot to mention that I did put the grinder to the bottom of the T-stat housing to clear some material and level it off for clearance for the ST80 with the stock turbo mount.
