Default Who can tell me about this Vortech SC?

I want to put this on my 408 06 Trail Blazer. I need to know what I need to do to make the SOB work or if it will be a waste of time. As easy as turbo charging stuff is........
Anywho, the numbers on the plate read
model V1
serial 09604
carb eo D-213-14

The wheel is 83mm and the blower nozzle measure 58mm.

Thanks for the help guys.

I am quessing by the V-1 and the 6 rib pulley that it is an S-trim supercharger. The data tag is unreadable, but if it says "RACE" on it, then it is a T-trim V-1. The S-trim on a 408CI would be a waste of time. You might get a pound or 2 with it, as the 350CI gets 6#. If you overspin it too much, the heat and inefficiency will hurt gains as well. Keep an eye out for a YSi Vortech or F1 Procharger to feed your 408, or as you mentioned already, turbo the SOB.

It would say "Race" right after V1.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard some nut swinger say that.

Honestly, I think you'll need to make sure you have the room to mount that blower on your engine some place.

Do you know what the original application for it was?

That blower might even be a old B-Trim or A-Trim supercharger. The serial # is a dead giveaway. Vortechs #'s are like in the 63K range now. That supercharger I bet is like ten years old.

Get a T- Trim or a YSi.

Do the internals appear in good shape? You could always contact the folks at Vortech, they will be more then happy to help you out. Not sure what they might even recommend if the unit is 10 years old or about...

I would think it will do something on any motor, the hardest part is going to get all the supporting material lined up and installed. I am working on getting a V1-SI which is their newest version put on my SS. But with the V1SI on the stock bottom LS1 with patriot stg3 heads it made 600rwhp@6100 rpm, it was running out of fuel and would have broke the rods if it went to 7kish. My point is, vortech was running an upgrade special for the old s-trims to convert them to SI's rebuild it upgrade it and let her rip.

What or Who's bracket are you using to mount this blower..? I have an F1A going into my TBSS and the kit places it on the passenger side... PM me if you need some info on these kits for the trailblazers..

Well after ripping the bearings out in three seperate vortech units, we switched over to an F1R and our problems went away. Pretty much proved to us that procharger has a pretty damn good product.
