Most superchargers have internal gears to drive the compressor. The Powerdyne uses a two inch wide belt. I used one for two years with no problems. The compressor does not move a lot of air, so you are looking at gains of around 50-80 HP at around five pounds boost. The LT1 unit uses completely different mounting and ducting. Not worth the time to adapt it IMO. You can pick up a LS1 setup for around $1000-1400.

The impellers like to grenade and destroy your motor!!! If you run decide to run one leave your maf on with the screne, even if you do a speed density. Prolly still not fullproof but it can't hurt.

Wow, your going about this all the wrong way. Don't do anything half *** or it's going to cost you more money than if you did it the right way the first time. I understand trying to save money, I looked for the best deals on everything when parting together my set-up but I didn't look for the deal, I looked for the part at the right deal. Plan out what you want, start saving and buy a part at a time. Don't even look at forced induction unless you plan on spending over $10K, not just the cost of the blower/turbo goes into these set-ups. Don't think you can get away with bolting on a blower and that's it or your going to be in for a hurting when parts start breaking. For what your looking for, just put a small shot of nitrous on to get you by until you have a LOT more money to spend.

what he said is the total truth, think about it, you are going to spend 1500 on a used kit, another 500 in gauges to monitor evreything. (wideband, Fuel Pressure, boost), injectors, tune, fuel pump you are nearing the 3000 dollar range if you do everything your self. Not worth it for a powerdyne kit. However I did own one in the past and never had a problem with it.

What he said, also will sound better with the cam. Find a used set of ported heads to add to the equation & you have twice the power that you will gain with the powerdyne. Powerdyne = bad design, very old subject around these parts.
