Agreed, I have an STS on my F-body and I went with the EPP cam. I have heard nothing but great things about this cam. I have not yet installed it, but once it is in, I plan to provide a detailed feedback topic on this product once I have it installed and put a few hundred miles on it.

LS6 cam... I'd think it would spool faster than the 224

the LS6 has been proven to work awesome on STS cars, not to mention, it's very cheap and abundant lol. I ran the TRT cam, 228/228 .588 on a 115. Made the power I wanted at the time, I will be trying something else when I see what this cam does with the 370

I have the z06 cam in - i wouldnt know if its all that great since i havent tried anything else. but it does the job nicely.. i would prefer some lope at idle.. this doesnt give u that

if u get rid of the 224/224 i may b interested lol

I was always told to get a bigger LSA so I would go with the 117 for less lap over!

Other than that... you might want to look in to a cam with a longer duration on the exhast side as well.

I had a GT70 STS on my 98 formula with 12psi pushing 605rwhp to the rear. Thing is I had a hard time getting it to spool fast. I would be full boost at about 4.7-5.3k rpm. I am SURE i could of spooled faster with a better cam. Dont pick a cam cause someone says it gives you better hp... Get a cam that will help you spool faster. I think 14.7psi is the # that doubles your hp. If you pick the cam with the faster spooling I am sure the other might have 20rwhp or so more but your under the curve hp will rape them.

As of now, go with what you know and that's the ls6 cam works. Talk to some dealer of STS and see what they say.

Since you have the 224 on a 114 I say go with that. If it was on a 112 I would tell you to go to the z06 cam.

i know this is off topic but for some reason its hard to find information, what cam would you suggest with a D-1SC procharger, iv heard either a z06 cam or a 224 with 114 also, would it just be the same as whatever to get for a turbo cause they are both boosted setups?

+1 for the EPP cam but since it's out, how about the 224. At least then you will have a little thump at idle.

Not everyone wants lope. I didn't . I wanted a cam that was easy to tune and no lope. It seems to work well and have seen some great dyno numbers with it on similar setup to mine.

I have no dyno numbers yet.
My cam is near identical to z06 cam . Might have different ramp rates or lobes or something. It is compatible with 1.8 rockers so went with some to give me more lift. Running 8019 valve springs good for 650 lift just to be safe.

01 ZO6 cam: 204/211 .525/.525 -116 LSA
Lingenfelter GT2 205/212 .540/.540 –116.5CL

02-03 ZO6 cam: 204/218 .551/.547 -117.5 LSA
Lingenfelter GT2-3 207/220 .571/.578 –118.5CL

05-07 ZO6 cam 210/230 .561/.557 –120.5 LSA
Lingenfelter GT7 208/230 .554/.546 –121CL

Mostly they use the gt7 these days. The gt2-3 was their choice previously for super or turbo.
I got my gt7 for really cheap used so no complaints.Otherwise likely would have bought the gm cam as they are cheap.

Here is similar built to mine and pretty high end build of course and front mounts but seems to work pretty good in there.

"My car was a handful when it made 680rwhp (9.4@143) so I have yet to see what it will be like with 867rwhp.

The beauty about turbos is that you can adjust the Hp with a touch of a button on the eboost2 controller.

I have the car tuned by one of the best tuners in the country.

here are the Hp setting:

1.606rwhp -640trq - 7.6 psi. 91 pump gas ( my wife drives the car with no problems

2.656rwhp -670trq 9.0 psi

3.707rwhp -773trq 11.6psi

4.736rwhp -812trq 13. psi

car makes 735rwhp(over 840 HP at the crank) on 13psi 812rwtrq(over 900 TRQ at the crank) ..car is a beast. will do the 1/4 LOW 10'S AND over 138+ mph.

condition is 8.5 /10 (its an 2002)

Here is the list of mods:

I just had a wideband installed- 250.00 plus install

( so the picture with the gauges has a wideband instead of the second boost gauge.)
Everything is done RIGHT - no corners cut!!
L.A.P.D did the install and they have done over 50 APS cars.

Cam is not really going to add much power.Turbos will reach their max power and thats that. But you will be playing with lope, idle, tuning ease, cam surge, and area under the curve and moving powerband around a bit with various cams.
A real crappy cam choice could bleed off boost maybe and stop you from reaching full power potential of the turbos.
