Default High Comp & Boost

ok want to get off the juice and into some boost. the problem is im running 243 heads milled to 59 cc with a .045 gasket. the cam is not ideal (232/236 580 580 112+4) but i think it will do until i get a built long block. i was thinking of getting an A&A kit with a YSI and just run a big pulley, alot of meth, and a conservative tune. one thing i do have in my favor is DA, it goes from 4000' in the winter to 8000' in the summer. do you think it would be ok to shoot for around 600-650 rwhp without it being a ticking time bomb?

Good question. I also have high CR- 11.3. I have been told by 3 tuners now that even with forged internals IF you go with a turbo or centri setup don't go much over 5-6 lbs of boost. More than that your engines longevity is in serious question.

Of course a buddy of mine is running 14 lbs through a twin .50 APS kit on his 11.1 06 GTO and has been doing so for about 10k miles with no serious issues.

I'd def. run meth on a higher CR motor.

That' should not be hard to achieve.

You can run some thicker gaskets to help drop the compression.

pretty sure speed inc did a f-body with a 408 with 11:1 with an aps kit. with 7 lbs of boost they made like 700 plus horse. with the compression that high you dont need alot of boost to get high power numbers.

i am running a 10:1 motor. but i aslo am going e85.

Like these?

I also heard you can run heads with a larger chamber but economically speaking it would be cheaper to just tear the engine down and run lower CR pistons.

Sig check! Id like it to be a 9:1 motor, but eh, eventually!

It will be a 95% C16 motor.... pump will be E85, or 2-5#s on 93 and a neutered timing table...

i tried calling and talking to you about this and a aps kit but the guy that answered the phone said you were to busy to talk. when i told him joking "ok....ill call a competitor" he hung up on me. kinda sucks too since your pops was so nice to me a few years ago when i was out there having godspeed tune my old ta back when the x2 hit the market. hell i even run the pros on my current Z06. anyway, i ended up buying some 317s to drop the compression.

I am about to do a TTIX build with a lS3 418 with 10.8cr. I have been low cr and didn't like it. Thought I would try this.
