Over heating with a verticle griffin. Anyone else??
Have a turbo really close to the radiator and my 4"dp runs along side the motor. I have a 16" fan on the same griffin everyone runs on here and am having temp issues. Runs around 200* when 70* out but seems to even struggle there. Slowly creeps up to 210* when beating on it. When it is 80* out my car runs 210* and creeps from there. If I get stuck in traffic I will overheat for sure.
Anyone else having issues? Any suggestions? I am thinking about having all my pipes ceramic coated in and out. They are wrapped right now and I am wondering how much of a temp drop I might see? This just takes all the fun out of driving it.

Fan is unshrouded. Not ideal for surface area but have space issues. The Stat
is a 195. I'm just wondering if I have a problem like air in the system. Once the temp starts to climb I can't get it to come back down even while moving. Just holds that temp till I stop then climbs higher.

Fan is a puller. Gonna mount a pushed this weekend. I think I found the problem. I put the head steam hose in the upper radiator hose and it is higher than the radiator. I need to figure out a way to bleed the air out. The middle of the upper hose is probably all air. I'll let you guys know if it works. Thanks for the help

I am at a loss. Added a pusher fan,a bleeder on the t-stat housing, and bled the upper hose. The car seems worse than ever. The temp will not stay at any temp for more than a minute or two. Climbs one degree at a time till I hit 230* Car over heats after 30mins of driving. The car had no issue until I used the verticle radiator, change my turbo set up, put the steam hose in the upper hose, and redesigned the t-stat housing.
It is either the stat housing design or just too much damn heat under the hood. Could I have such bad angles on this lower hose that it messes flow up? I have a straight t-stat housing cut at a 45* and a pipe cut at a 45* so the flow comes out of the housing straight down and angled back toward the motor. It is a terrible angle but I figure as long as the diameter is the same it would flow fine. Right? Is there something I don't know here?

Do you still have the lower air dam that directs air up? What about all the factory plastics that force the air towards the radiator? Can you fit the dual slim line fans as pushers? If the turbo is close, maybe a blanket for it?
If you just start the car up from being cold will it keep the car cool at idle? What about if you drive it awhile and then park it at idle does it cool back down? I have never had any luck with unshrouded fans.

Well it over heats idling and moving. I just redone the thermostat housing and lower hose with no change. Has anyone had problems with aftermarket housings/thermostats? I am going to try a different stat also this weekend for the hell of it. Has anyone had a water pump stop flowing? Somtimes it seem ok and then it will start climbing slowly until it gets into the 230's. I just can't believe this radiator is struggling to cool this setup while moving!?!
Stat is a 180*. The lower air dam is on the car. The upper plastic that directs air to the radiator is off.( not for long)

not sure cause im running the same radiator with the PTK kit, and the turbo is only 3 in. from the radiator and Ive yet to have to turn the fans on, it never gets above 200 even in traffic and ive drove it in 90degree weather, im kinda leaning toward possibly air in the system

Was perfect with my old turbo setup. This didn't start until I Made a new t6 setup with the verticle radiator. I have put 12psi at it with this setup and it runs great. I know it's not the head gasket.
