Default Intercooler ambient air flow TRANS AM

What do most people do to get good flow through the cooler, radiator, and condenser on trans ams? Remove the license plate cover or what?

I see how camaros do it, but I don't see pics of what A/A ICs Trans Ams do.

Anyone got pics?

Whats the largest size people have fit in their T/A? I would much rather invest in a huge A/A IC without doing meth to keep IATs down.

No picks, but I removed the license plate cover and cut through the bumper support and foam. I then welded in some plating to better route the air to the intercooler - forming a tapered duct.

I then built a custom frame with some mesh to cover up the hole and keep bugs out.

It seems to work okay.

I am running an 18 x 24 (if I remember correctly) core that sits immediately in front of the radiator.

Thanks, how thick is you IC? I would think that this setup would be much more beneficial for keeping everything cool, as air can come straight in through the IC, then the vertical radiator, and the vertical condenser.

I cut the bumper support and slid the IC into it. My IC is 3" thick. Im also reusing the foam w/ the foglights being retained.

I am guessing I will just cut that hole out. Would you think that a hole that big would be enough to cool the IC, radiator and condenser in Houston heat, stop and go, DD? I mean I am not shooting for killer power, maybe 500+

the air bridge/dam is how the radiator and condenser get fresh air. You must run that or you will have trouble keeping it cool on the move.

Do you have a vertical radiator and condenser?
