Default LS2 or LS3 which one for boost?

I have an 07 LS2 short block & I also have an 07-08 L92 out of an Escalade,
I'm looking to go turbo:

How much power & boost can a stock block(LS2 or LS3) fitted with forged internals handle??

How much power & boost can a stock crank handle?

What size Turbo?

If you had a choice between LS2 or LS3 which ones would you use?

I will be using some ET 4" LS7 Heads and a GMPP single plane.

Thanks for any info in advance!
John

When you say stock block do you mean stock cubes? I wouldn't call something with forged internals a stock block. From what I've seen the stock crank isn't a weak link.

Wow!! 1700 hp was that with a stock crank?? how much boost?

What would you say is safe boost for a factory block with forged pistons, forged rods, & stock crank?

Fireball what can a stock crank handle?

I'm asking cause i want to know if i should buy an aftermarket crank or keep the stocker..
Thanks John

Callies crank. 32psi

Boost means nothing...its power that makes the difference...I'd limit it to 800rwhp...but thats just me...crank flex can be an issue...not so much breaking it

if you're putting together a motor...I'd really suggest looking at Virginia Speed to do it...shawn will make sure you have the right parts for a reliable combo

I just said if it was me

I don't recall ever reading about anyone breaking a stock crank...but I know they have shown main bearing issues due to crank flex at certain power levels

yeah i don't think I'd want to take a chance with a stock crank, & risk damaging the block. Looks like i'm going with the callies crank & rods and some wiseco pistons with my ETP 4" LS7 heads, that are on my 408 now.
looking at a truck manifold set-up with a PT88. what do you guys think?
thanks john
