brandnew gatorback on all both engine and charger. the procharger belt is fine. I popped my hood to find that the belt is riding on the top of the tensioner and the power steering pump.

you need the manual tensioner. i have the katech one. takes a couple of minutes to install. the stock one is not good enough. swapped mine out and no problems since.

I have the stock one and I have no problems. Might want to check your belt alignment.

Your one of the lucky ones then. After any hard run on mine it would throw a rib off. Put on the katech and it has been perfect. This is a common problem with FI cars.

If you are talking about your engine accessory belt, I went through two rides on the hook just as you described to determine the stock harmonic balancer on a GTO will not handle the added load of a D1SC procharger. Most of the P1SC guys have not had this problem. I had to buy the $400+ aftermarket balancer and I have been free of this problem for a year. Discussed this with Bob at EPP and he said he has seen it many times and it has always been a harmonic balancer replacement which has solved the problem, not the tensioner. I still have the stock belt tensioner.

You'll have to let us know if the Katech tensioner takes care of the problem for you. Bob

I thought that tensioner was not for FI products?
