For a rear end, midwest chassis for sure.

Build looks great! Some folks love the open dump and some hate it. Try it out as is and see how you like it first. What K member is that btw?

I think you should go with e-85 because it's equivalent to 110 octane race gas and it's cheap. Everything about e-85 is alout better except your limted pumps. Build looks good hope everything goes well.

I am building almost an identical engine, 408 with a gt-88 and all the supporting mods, how ever I only have a factory computer instead of a BS3.

I have tallked to a well reputable local dyno tuner about the fuel system I should have to support 1200+ fwhp and he said that regular pump gas isn't going to get me there, but if I switch to E85 that would allow me to turn up the boost and 1200hp wont be a problem.

120 lb/hr injectors is what he recommended with E85, but thought they would be very difficult to tune with regular pump gas (because of the lower pulse width required)

I'll b watching this thread to see what you decide on, good luck.

Looks great. Stupid question- this is a truck mani setup right?!?!

Also, when you post pics, try and use embed them in the thread. Those .bmp attachments you posted a few replies back are very small.

Keep up the good work!

Looks great very similar to mine. I know what you mean with that kmember its a tight fit. I ended up on the inside of the engine mount with my dp.

is yours going to be a street car or track only? if i go the e85 route 160lb injectors will be used 120's will be maxxed on e85 with the fuel requirements of this motor... ( according to my friend john meeny) also what pump or pumps are you thinking for fuel delivery? and i also agree it should take you to the 1200 hp mark if the tuner is good..

You host the pics on photobucket or something like that. You cannot use webshots though. After it's hosted, copy the image URL/direct link. Then when you are posting on the site you'll see a little icon above where you are typing that looks like mountains and has a yellow background. Click on that, paste the URL/link, and hit ok.

Basically what it does is puts [IMG] [/IMG] around the URL/link. For example:

Then preview the post and the images should appear instead of an attachment.

Try it out!

I'd stay away from that E85 stuff, first time you get a tank of fuel that's got a bunch of water in it (since E85 absorbs water really REALLY fast) you won't be very happy.

That stuff is a double edged sword, and I know a couple people that got cut on the backside of it now.

My car will be both a street and strip car, but primarily a street car.

As far as the 120's vs. the 160's, I think you are right, the 120's would be maxxed out. By my calculations, 1200 fwhp with E85 would require 138.61 lbs/hr @ 43.5psi (3 bar), or 119.4 lbs/hr @ 58 psi (4 bar), so yeah, the 120's would be maxxed.

As far as the fuel pump(s), I have 2 - 255 lph walbros right now, but I think I need more. Again, by my calculations, 1200 fwhp on E85 would require a supply of 503 lph (133 gph), so my 2 - 255's are a little to close for comfort.

I have also heard the E85 and water rumor. They is one local guy with a turbocharged fox body mustang that has 724 rwhp and runs nothing but E85. He has had this combination for 2 years and is street driven on a regular basis. I have talked to him about my E85/pump gas project and he has never mentioned anything about a water issue. Also 2 local reputable dyno's have HIGHLY recommended E85 with boost, and mentioned nothing about the ill effects of it. This really proves nothing, but I trust these 3 people enough I will bet my engine on it.

As you can probably tell, I do not speak from personal experience on all of this, just research I've done. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me, for both cases.
