Default Loss of traction AFTER launch... weird pulsing vibration on decel...

Ok guys when i launch on the street i can get good traction off the launch... using the transbrake up to about 2psi or so it will dead hook...but after the launch i loose all traction..... ...... so do you think if i change my pinion angle will it help??? im at -2* right now...

also on a decel after a run i get a pulsating vibration.... i put the car in neutral and rev it up and hold like 3500rpm and i can still feel the pulsation/vibration...

i have stock motor mounts (havent put in the poly motor mounts yet) and a have a poly trans mount.... i have a chassis mounted spoohn Tq arm... th400, new spohn driveshaft, bmr lcas panhard stb...

what do you think is causing the pulsing vibration??? vvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaa vvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrraaaaaa vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr aaaaaaaaaaaa

its starting to drive me crazy! any ideas???

It does it on decel and in neutral....

Take care not to place the trans in neutral while the car is traveling. This will cause the internals of the trans to speed up 2 to 2.5 times faster then if left in gear. This can cause the trans internals to over speed and could make the trans blow like a grenade, possibly hurting you. Rossler transmission has a nice right up on their web page explaining this dangerous condition.

While the car is sitting still, put the trans in neutral and slowly bring the rpm up to see if it is vibrating like that. If it does not then the engine and the convertor is balanced properly. If you still feel it then I would say either the convertor or the engine is not balance right (or both together). If it does not vibrate then the issue could be in the trans, drive shaft, "U" joints, tires, and the last possible cause could be the tune.

Let us know what you find.

Get rid of the poly trans mount.

O no never put the car into neutral while moving, only while parked...

I had a retard attack! its my crank pulley that isnt balanced... had an issue getting it off a while ago and threw it across the shop and chipped off a good section of it! oooops, thanks!

I think its just because im on the street.... if i was at the track and could leave at good boost it would help.

Im leaving at 0-2 psi off the brake and dead hooks... then the car jumps to 17.5 psi and its all over for traction after that.... lmfao

i need to learn to control my my happy right foot!

i wanna see what it does at the track befor i worry about it to much!

Thanks for all the good info guys!

Yeah the qa1's will keep the front end from slamming back down and unloading the rear. Best addition to a car, suspension wise IMO.

Get the more expensive QA1's that have two *****. The single **** QA1's will still unload the front suspension. Bob

How about controlling the boost some, running lower boost in 1st gear then bringing on the rest of the power.

Polly trans mount was my vibration issue. I went back to the stock trans mount and the vibration was solved. Good luck.

sounds like a pinion bearing, my buddy had that noise and we replaced the axle and carrier bearings and it was still there. replaced the pinion bearing and it ws gone. this was a 10 bolt though, not a 9in

well the 9in has made noise since new.. but this noise is a little different does it when just revving in neutral also..... thing its the crank/balancer pulley.. cuz i broke my pulley so its a little off balance im sure...

i am switching my 373 to 300 gears soon (when i get time) wo ill be checking out the rear...

i honestly thing its a combination of the crank pulley/poly mounts/rear...

What turbo and how much boost were you on for that pull? Got an 1/4 times?

This is mine doing the same pull but only to 110 instead of 120

http://www.streetfire.net/video/new-...ser_739072.htm

Your decel noise sounds similar to an out of balance drive shaft/wheel. Mine made the same noise until I got the wheels and drive shaft properly balanced, but it also was there when driving.

MPt70/.96ar, stock short 5.3, 317 heads, 15psi, 15* timming, th400, 9" 370's.... i think itll be faster once the 3.00 gears are installed... im at 17.5-18psi now.....

not to bad for a little 5.3 pushing a 3800# car...

no track times, im hoping for a low 10... i can hit full boost off the t-brake in about 1.5 seconds, if i can hook and no spining it has a low 10 easy

you are really pushing that T70, might want to consider a t76 as an upgrade in the future, after you get some track times of course

No track time is "easy" until you've already done it.

ya the T70 is working real hard lol...

My last car made 80 less HP and i didnt have a transbrake and pulled off a 10.7... so i figure having the transbrake and extra hp i should be able to get a low 10.. i have to get the ******* thing to hook good first though
