Default sts newbie

im going to look at a 2000 ss camaro,6 speed with a sts turbo this saturday.what should i look for?is there any issues with this setup?the car has the turbo with intercooler, nelson tune installed.it comes with sts 2 stage boost controller, external oil pump, racetronic fuel pump plug an play harness,#60 injectors these parts are new and have not been installed.the turbo has been on the car since 2003 with under 10,000 miles since installation.the car itself has 43,000 miles on it.what should i look for besides bald tires?
thanks for all that put this site together it really seem like a ton of info on here.

I would do a compression check first and formost. Running a turbo car on stock injectors is a huge no no. biggest issues is the scavenger pump failure and a oily maf. and if it has the stcok sts pcv system on it I would really check the maf, and compression. Im not saying he is a bad seller but why on earth would a tuner a good tuner tune a turbo car on the stock injectors thats just not right.

Sounds like he has all of the basic upgrades that you would need to look for with the kit.

42# injectors on 5lbs is fine.. I ran 10lbs with 42's (think it was about the limit)

thi is long winded bear with me.OK guys i bought the car.its extremely clean and well cared for cosemetically.had the car home for about an hour when i decided to really put the boot to it,its is horrible soft under 3000 rpm, like a friggin yugo would run with it.once on boost car pulls good.so i tryed lettin it go at 3500,,,not so good, clutch is smoked.so i ordered at monster level 3 premium clutch kit.
while that was being shipped,i didnt like how the cold side was plumbed so i replumbed it .went under the axel, down the center of car, moved the MAF under the radator parellel to ground, went thru the intercooler opposite direction from the way the last guy did it.mig welded the steel piping and tig welded the alum piping.lost about 300 degrees of bends three foot of pipe and nine hose couplers.had to fabricate some new lower shock mount to keep the rear housing from drooping so low, turbo is tucked up very nice.
i recieved cluth friday and have every thing dissassembled and ready to go back in.i put the manifolds back on the car(had mac mid lenght headders) and need to make exhaust to go from manifolds to mac off road Y pipe and im wrapping the exhaust front to rear.bought a fresh set of 02 sensors and ngktr6 plugs(it had tr55 gapped at .060 WTF)
now i have a couple of questions.
im thinking of doing a 67 mm turbo upgrade, where it the best place to purchase on that is a direct bolt in?what are the pros and cons of installing the racetronic fuel system that i have for the car?will it run with the tune that is in the car?im planning to do some dyno runs in the first week of may,but i may hold off if i can do the upgrade for a resonable price.
i forgot to mention i have relocated the return line to the pan and removed the sts pcv system, the more i looked at the pcv i think someone at sts is a retard.
thats all fer now,ill keep you posted on dyno numbers and how it goes at the 1320.if anyone knows where there is a used 12 bolt or 9" let me know this 10 bolt is doomed.thanks for the replys guys, this site rocks.

the 67mm @ 5~8psi will get you 52x RWHP & etc TQ. it will be a direct bolt in most likely, as the STS kit is a t3/t4 hyrbid, so either of those flanges work fine, I directly bolted up my TC76 from Forced Inductions.

you will outflow the racetronix 255 pump. Talk to lonnies performance. He helped with mine and is GREAT to deal with.

you will just have to check your AFR and will probably want to get it tuned.

PM if you wanna chat more, check out my build if you have time.

with the 67mm will the lag be even worse than it is now?i know i could put more gear in the rear, but that will amplify the 10 bolts tooth engagement issues,it currently has 3.42.
could i run with the 60mm at 7-8 psi,or is it too inefficient of a turbo?
