Default What vacuum pump do you guys run?

This question obviously goes out to the guys making 4 digit horse power......who run vacuum pumps. I am considering running one this season (maybe next if my car ever gets done ). Which ones work good? How much does the entire set up cost. I'm pretty wet behind the ears with vacuum pumps.

Also, my car will see 10% street duty and I thought I read somewhere vacuum pumps aren;t good for the street. What say you?

Correct me if I'm wrong but can't you utilize them for both or vice versa?

GZMotorsports has a very nice setup for the LS, along with SBC and BBC. I used his vacuum pump kit on my SBC and plan to get the drive pulley required to swap it over to my 408.

I think I looked at their website, and read a review or two on here. I think I saw problems with people throwing their belts.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, I also need to figure out how to cram 5lbs more ****.....into a 1 lb bag These twins and a high-mount alternator sure make this difficult!

I met a guy here in detroitwho has a turbo LT1. He hooked up the factory air pump to a pressure switch. then routed the air inlet to one of the valve covers. So now whenever he gets into boost it kicks on. Said hes had zero problems with it

I wouldnt waste the money on a vaccum pump, put a good dry sump on it and it will pull the vaccum. With that being said I ran a HTP last year.

The class I race in does not allow a dry sump.

Just saw this up for sale on the parts section. It looks like a full setup and I think its in very good condition. So if you are interested check it out. I think its a good deal, if its not sold yet.
