the only part I think is "too small" for a 408 is the exhaust housing. You will have quite a bit of backpressure. Other than that, it'll work fine. 98Z28cobrakiller should chime in before too long, he has experience with the pt88 and too much back pressure.

I have a nice GT88 T6 turbo that would suit your 408 better Brand new. 1.08 A/R exhaust housing.

Back housing will be too small for a 408 IMO. I think it's becoming a problem on my setup but not 100% sure yet.

Why not sell the turbo instead of the rotating assembly. I think it would be easier to sell the turbo because people might not want what you have in the rotating assembly.

It just depends how hard you are pushing it. It will probably be fine at 15 psi or so but if you are leaning on it hard 20+ psi it is too small. I know personally.

this will be a pump gas truck so i'm sure 16 psi would be pushing it...

They do make a T6 version of the pte88, you might be able to swap out the exhaust housing.

This sounds like your winner right here. Upgrading the housing will only be a minimal cost out of pocket.

There will be a better turbo choice for that combo, but the pt88 will work fine at that boost level.

You need to change your avatar to 8 second club, Wow 8.98 thats fast, I'm doing an LQ9 too w/ turbo / 4L80e not looking for 8's, but high 9's would be cool on the street, but what have you done to the engine, is it a complete forged rotating 370 assembly including the crank, and AFR 225's, what size turbo are you running and what are you putting to the rear wheels for RWHP?

Thanks

If it's a T6 housing it will do. Is it ideal? Not quite, it's a good start.

I just saw where this is going in a truck on pump gas. This will be a perfect set-up IMO for a big heavy truck. 408, PT88 quick spool (on your motor) and still have enough nuts for 15psi and 800rwhp.

I think a GT-91 would be perfect for your set up if you ever planned on racing it or wanting more on top end. A GT-88 would also be another choice even as they have a larger turbine wheel than the PT88. You could also look into the Pro Mod or X275 billet wheel 88 from PTE.
