Default Blew a head gasket today

Our head gasket blew today at the track. First run, WTF! What is a good aftermarket replacement? Stock bottom end , stock heads, ls1 pushing 15psi with a turbo. Should we get arp studs too? Help!

Keep us posted of how long your stock bottom end lasts at 15 psi. You might consider also adding ARP fasteners to your rods too.

OEM hardware is fine. Look into what made it detonate. I'm guessing it didn't detonate for long if the pistons are in 1 piece with that setup. I run 17psi on my stock ls6.

first the car was tuned in 2nd gear due to the trans being off a bit, the afr was 12.1 when it should be 10.5:1 on a turbo car. and the timing was wrong. I just hope it was only the gasket and not the pistion! I know at the track it just took a nose dive and didnt stop running. i will take it apart this weekend.

I have the felpro and run at 10lbs. I also have arp 2000 rod bolts, head and main studs. I know its a little over kill for 10lbs coming out of a maggie but I have never broke anything in the motor! lol
