Question GT 2-3 cam for a 370?

I am building a 370 with a TC-78, Wiseco pistons, Callies rods and stock 317's. I have a Lingenfelter Gt 2-3 208/220 118 cam and am on the skeptical side as it being to small. I am doing this build and would like it to be done right the first time.

Thanks

The TC78 is a little small for 370 cubes, but with that in mind, it wouldn't seem to be a bad match. I'd want more turbo with that motor though.

I've had that cam. Too small for any motor. It added 6 rwhp over the stocker. When the car was first boosted. 424-430 rwhp

I'd rethink that one quick.

Well there is a stock ls2 here with the APS kit that hit 700 rwhp with that cam. I might have to get up with a few more people for this build.

Steve what turbo and cam would you recommend?

The GT2-3 will work although you'd make more power with a bigger cam. Bob

It is impossible to make even a guesstimate on the cam without having some idea as to what the heads flow and where they peak.

Yeah i know. For now they will be ported 317's after i will be going with a PRC 237 or something in that range. I am just looking for a low 10 second pass with a m6. I know the M6 will kill me but i want to be able to drive this thing anywhere and i got it for practically nothing.

It will be a fast spooling and fun low 10 second car. You could even hit 9's. I think you will be happy with your setup. You will want an auto in time though.

I would think that its the APS kit making the power and not that cam. That cam seemed real popular a few years ago, but there a lot more out there (Bigger) that WILL make a difference.

I am no turbo cam expert. Supercharger, I can give you some advice. But for sure in any car, that cam was not worth the time or money.

I'd put up a post for a good turbo cam for your combo and sell that one.

Boost is boost. If the intake is seeing 5#'s then it is seeing 5#'s it does not know where that boost is coming from.

I think I might go bigger in both the cam and turbo. I guess i will see how much that will cost.

I'd do a turbo cam post. That's not any kind of cam for you or I, if you want to make some real power.
