So I ran across this Vortech blower on craigslist and had a buddy on the other coast of Florida pick it up for me. I got it really cheap and according to my buddy its spins nice and free with no shaft play. I still don't have it in hand but heres the craigslist posting pics.

Unfortunately someone decided to pull the tag off it and sand it down to polish it.

I was told it came with an LS1 camaro vortech kit but it definitely looks bigger then the V-9 G units that came in the camaro kits.

Anyone have an idea what blower this is?

What's the outer diameter of the blower output tube, and the outer diameter of the inlet? That should narrow it down.

I still don't have the charger in hand so thats why I'm trying looking for a visual estimation right now.

The second I get it in hand I'll measure it for the dimensions and get Vortech's take on it.

O.D. of Inlet: 3.625"
I.D. of Inlet: Approximately: 3.150"

O.D. of Oulet: 2.50"
I.D. of Outlet: 2.050"

Maybe this will help narrow it down

Well after measuring and comparing to vortech's specs, I am 90% sure its a a V-9 G trim unit, max 800 CFM, 600hp. Seems that the seller was right on, it came from an ls1 camaro kit. Not bad for $600 and seems to be in good working order.

Now comes the fun of making a bracket for this to go on my Gen 1 350ci SBC in a mazda Rx7. With a good intercooler, meth injection, and megasquirt II injection, I'm hoping to get 500 hp at the wheels.

Gonna need to build a little bit better bottom end then a cast crank, factory forged X rods, and forged speed pro Flat top pistons. My compression ratio with the 64cc heads is also going to be a bit high so may need to get a thicker heads gasket for the initial setup.

Maybe, but I have seen people save money by polishing their own, and they almost never put the tag back on.
