What are your power goals? Personally on a 5.3 I would run a t-76 or tc-78 even, with a .96 a/r. A 70 will only leave you wanting more. Take my build for example. Started LT1 w/ 76GTS, decided to ditch the LT1 for a ERL LS2 with PT-88. Just bought a Precision billet wheel GT-4788 bad boy with a 1.08 a/r! lol.

Even if you stick with a 5.3 (great motor) you will want more power. The 76 or 78 with above a/r gives you great response on the street, plus room to grow a bit.

The great thing about the 5.3 liter block is that we can machine and sleeve it and it will end up just like the LS2 after we're done with it in that we can sleeve it using either our Dry Sleeve setup or our ERL Superdeck I system with doweled billet main caps and the works. Your 5.3 liter block is a fine candidate for a build like we did for 355turbolt1.

i just wanna run mid 10's. my only concern w the t76 is that the little 5.3 wont spool it up fast enough. so w/ that said would there be any spooling problems, where would i hit full boost?

If I could do it over again, I would get a t76 over a t70.

Was there any reason in particular other than potential power?

The T76 would be great on a 5.3. I have seen several guys do this and they love it. Contact forced inductions . They can provide you with a compressor map and jose will most likely be able to tell you right over the phone. I have bought two turbos from him amongst other things and he has always been great.

Nope just power. My t70 was very well built and has been alot of fun. At my current setup a t70 works great because I dont have a built rear or DRs so I have some slip when I go into boost, I cant imagine how loose the rear would be with a bigger turbo...
