powersteering overheating

Default powersteering overheating

i have a 408 s91 setup and my powersteering gets tought to turn after beating on the car. i removed the ps cooler a while back but now after driving it for short trips it will get tough to turn, is the pump shot? i replaced the fluid with some lucas and it didnt help.

anybody know about this? could it be just a pump going out? it doesnt make any noise, just hard to turn

mine did this, i put a two row cooler on the air dam. works AWESOME now. factory cooler sucks btw.

did you have to replace the ps pump or is the hard turning just from overheated fluid?

The factory power steering cooler cooler is a heater for normal street driving cars. If you beat on it though it will get way hot. Put an aftermarket cooler on there. Its like $30.00 and 15 minutes to do it.

my steering is still tough at times. any insite would be helpful. its tough on cold start now and sometimes get very smooth and easy. other times it feels like its doing nothing.

wild guess that some of the hot turbo parts are all up on the power steering reservoir/lines etc.

pipes are coated and wrapped. ps lines are wrapped with aluminum thermotape
