Question Horizontal A2A IC(s)

Dont have room for FMIC. Was thinking of running 2 A2A IC mounted horizonally simular to the ProCharger F-bodt kits. I found 2 IC rated at 500hp each. I would use a deflector, and possabily a fan on each.(if I have room)

My question is what kind of temp drop can I expect from horizontally mounted IC's compaired to one single vertical FMIC? Would running two IC be too restrictive?? (extra bends to make it work)

I plan on running Meth/water inj. A progressive system from Snowperformance. Meth starts at 3psi and max out at 15psi. Would it just be better not running IC's at all???

Thanks - Ron

I'm currently building a TT system on a 65 Chevelle and am going to put the intercooler where the radiator was then mount the radiator to the intercooler. Do you have room to do that?

Youre going to mount the radiator to the intercooler? Wouldnt that heatsoak the intercooler?

With the intercooler in front of the radiator it should not have any heat problem, unless the fans are wired backwards or you drive for an extended time in reverse.

No. I dont have as much room as you. The front of a 67 is alot flater. I have 8 1/2" from grill to steering box. My rad. and fans are 7" and... Im running ac, so need room for the condenser.

They would only be effective if you built some nice ducting to them and core size was sufficient.

Just a deflector isn't going to do much for getting ambient air through the core.

Also, fwiw you have to run them in parallel not series.

ive always run my intercoolers horrozontally. I had the procharger twin kit installed(its for sale) and now running an ebay unit. I don't like the look of the Trans Am with the front of the bumper cut out.. From 0-100 Mph my Iat's raise 20*F. running 15psi boost.
Same run keeping it goint to 126Mph it rose 45*F. I am running the stock air deflector trimmed down to just the center section due to my old intercooler setup. I might get another deflector and see what happens. (or maybe a fan)
